I know several Jacks, and we had too Sam/Sammies at our yard until recently. Also at my last yard there were three Molly/Mollies one of which was mine. :redface3:

my last horse (1972 - 1977) was called Bamber. I've never come across another Bamber. :)

Also, there seem to be a huge number of palominos called Candy! I only know as I was helping a member here trace her old mare Candy, and loads of people told us of palomino Candys, sadly none of whom were hers. :( I knew a palomino Candy myself many years ago too.

Last post was names I've heard a lot of... thought I'd include my favourites, too!
Saphira
Shirocco/ Rocco
Bryn
Ky
^ I think those are all quite original and rather uncommon (except maybe Shirocco!)
Also Diesel, which is quite cool, and a cute one: Monkey! Doesn't suit every horse tho :p

If we are talking stable names, we have:
Flippa, Harvey, Danish, BeeBee, Mabel, Melody, Rosie, Smokey, Honey, Gracie and Vinnie. They all have their posh names that are fairly original, though.
I've also ridden for people multiple Paddies, Roses, Darcys and so on :)

Favourite names: Dante, Romeo, Arizona, Mr Darcy. Would love one of these!
I know lots of baileys, henrys, merlin and rosies. Favourite horse as a kid was Toby and my sister rode a skewbald called Bambi which I thought was cute. My own have been Milieu (pretty much a one off I reckon except for his sire who the stable name came from) and Deano - most people assume this is spelt Dino which I think is more common (Hovis' lost friend Hot Stepper was one I think) I nearly bought a Red and one of my favourite things about him was his name!

I don't think anybody should ever be allowed to name a dog or a horse, Molly! For goodness sake aren't there enough other names to choose from?

Common ones for me have been Minty, Goldie, Sam, Jasper.

It's interesting how names have changed over the years and become more human. When I was a kid they were called things like Caramel, Fudge, Toffee, Flame, Amber, Cracker, Pepper, Flash, Goldie etc but now Tom, William, Billy, Ted .... seem more popular. One of my favourites is Doris we had a Doris at our yard and she is the most beautiful horse but her name makes me chuckle.
