Afternoon everyone,
Apologies for taking some time out from this forum. As some of you know I had to make the awful decision to say goodbye to my mare and needed some space away to deal with it. I got ever so down after it happened and my partner said I need to move on and "get back in the saddle."
I don't want to go into the detail about it all but I will say it was peaceful and I know I made the right decision.
I have been out looking for another horsey over the last few days. I feel ready and its feels good and exciting. I didn't think I would be ready so soon but I miss the equestrian world so much I had to start all over again.
I think I might have found something that is perfect. He is a Cob in his late teens, very cheeky on the ground but a dream to ride. His owner has him on loan from a rescue place because he was too bolshy for the previous owner. I agree he is but he does make me laugh. He just dives for grass and anything that looks like food. I know he shouldn't do that but he has cheered my up no end. Riding him is brilliant, I feel ever so safe. I want him for myself but thought I would loan for a while to make sure he's right.
I really want him as my own though and not just to ride a couple of times a week!!!!! Is it too soon? am I too keen?? (obviously the charity never release ownership but loaning from a place like that is as good as owning.) The Owner has loads of horses as her own and I am hoping, if it works out, she will let me have him
