I was planing on doing a comp there next month. I was just viewing some photos in picture gallery and one of the fences was upright barrels with jump cups and jump poles, more like a show jump fence (hope you know what i mean). What is the course like are there a few fences on the course like this or are they normaly proper xc fences.

That fence is just a warm up fence, which RLF did say in her post!

If you go to the Hilltop website there are loads of pics of the course, I think they used to do a virtual course walk type thing

That will teach me to read the post and not just look at the pictures

Hilltop is a lovely course - the nicest in the area - but i would say it is a proper xc course (nicely built and flowing etc but with lots of questions and proper xc fences). there are several skinnies (went a few weeks ago to the first comp of the season and some were included) and some proper meaty xc fence. But it all rides and flows very nicely - i took a horse for their first xc when i went last.

There is a nasty double/triple skinny combination which is on a curved line which will either be around the 3rd to last jump or the 4th from the start which wasn't incuded when i went last - not sure if it will be included this time round. i think it was included in the final competition of last season.

Hope that makes some sense! it is a lovely course and you will really enjoy it!
