Puppy now 7 months old and is a joy to have in our life..... there's just one thing.... She's left in the mornings for about 3 hours... When we go out and when she goes to bed we lock her in the utility room... She's given toys, kong etc etc to keep her occupied... She's taken to chewing the washing machine door.. .so much so it now has a hole in it... we've tried putting spray on it - it's made no difference. Much as we love her we'd rather she didn't wreck expensive appliances. Anyone any tips?

2nd the crate training.....
Also what spray are you using?
I used a large pet shop / chain product, and unfortunately my lab would lick it off - it was useless.
The local dog trainer recommended a Spray called Bitter Apple (Google it).
It worked a treat and broke my pups skirting board habbit.
However, I gave my brother the bottle and his dog still chewed - but i'm not sure how good he was at keeping the applications up.
I think it smells lovely, it doesn't smell of apple by the way, it's quite potent

Read the following link - there was a section of Sprays, and interestingly enough it states that Bitter Apple is best after initial application (clearly a couple of times was enough for my pup to get the message)

put the puppy in a large cage with her bed when leaving unsupervised with a toy or a chewy bone of some sort and a water bowl! make sure the cage you buy will accomodate her growing buy one for her mature adult size then you wont need to buy twice!
