Well, Rage had absolutely *shocking* feet when we first got him (threw 5 shoes in 4 days!
) and we put him on Formula4Feet, but before long I did my homework and found that Formula4Feet is actually a feed balancer in itself, and that TopSpec did all the same things and more for less £££, he's been on Topspec ever since and hasn't lost a shoe in 6 months, and actually has strong horn rather than crumbly, frayed stuff
I was recommended Kevin Bacon hoof dressing instead of a supplement and it has done my horse's feet total wonders. Before he'd lose shoes at every opportunity and his feet didn't grow much. They are fantastic now.
Topspec and ALfa has worked wanders for G, everyone who knows him has commented on how fab hisfeet look now, and my farrier actually likes shoeing him now as he grows good quality hoof at a decent rate
Really really rate it was a suppliment now, the whole yard is on it

Conventional wisdom would assert that you couldn't notice a difference in just a few months, as the hoof takes the best part of a year to grow from coronary band to the ground.
However there is some new research that claims the hoof isn't only growing in a downward direction, this is only true of the outer hoof wall, whereas the inner hoof wall grows and is nourished from the inside out.
For that reason I can now appreciate that hoof supplements can make a difference in a far shorter time span than you would expect, and the evidence seems to back it up. My preferred hoof supplement is Top Spec like a lot of other people.

YEP!
He has had a seriously bad crack up his foot for 12 months and farrier has been unable to do much to it as his feet deteriourated so badly over the summer.
I started feeding it and farrier has been able to cut crack out and file it off.
HIs feet are smooth now and not splitting!
So something is obviously working
I used farriers formula and formula for feet, Naf Liquid Hoof etc etc but the equine america stuff as really worked.
It was purely by accident i bought it tbh, as i wasnt that impressed with the cortaflex so wasnt bothered about trying EA stuff again. So glad i did
We use something called Equistro Kerabol which our vet gave us for one of the pointers who had terrible feet. He's been on it now for 3months roughly, and the difference is huge. It's also very economic to use, and very palatable for the horse. Ours will lick it of my hands if I have some stuck to them.
My tb had awful feet ,couldnt keep a shoe on for longer than 3 weeks and they were crumbling .I have had him on a hoof supplement from www.horsesupplementsdirect.co.uk for a year and the vet and farrier cant believe the difference.I also use the joint product and he has just had the all clear from a tendon injury after only 13 weeks .I think all their products are good and there is no postage charge.
