Hooray - the evenings get lighter from today!

Youve cheered me up, I thought it was the 21st so for it to be 3 days earlier is just fab. Now, if someone could just stop it raining I promise not to ask Santa for anything else :)

Its actually technically the 13th December that the evenings get lighter, its just by such small amounts that it doesn't register! Today is the first day that sunset flips from 15:56 to 15:57.

Ah you have a whole 10 minutes more daylight than me!

Thank god!!!! Now, we just need to get past Christmas so the traffic calms down... (Took me two and a half hours to travel eighteen miles to the yard and back this evening.)

Ooh, mine is 15.50!
Over summer I stayed with friends in Brighton and commented it seemed to get dark early thinking I was just being a bit sensitive - I get a whole 25 minutes longer in summer evenings though

Funnily enough coming back from yard about 4 didn't need lights on my bike so onwards and upwards the sun when it's out disappears behind the Downs about 3.45 to 4 in the winter.

And I thought it was the 22nd. And I also thought it was 2 minutes a day, but its not. Some days its two minutes, other days its one and some days it stays the same. :( But on a happier note we have only 5% chance of rain on Xmas Day and no rain from Sunday to Wednesday in our neck of the woods, whoop whoop :)

Oh dear, that's a bit heavy, I think perhaps you need to go inside and have a nice drink of something and some chocolate....! It did make me laugh a lot though.

I saw the same film as Erin Paddywack(post #10), yesterday afternoon here was just like a post nuclear war winter?. Way brighter today, even a few patches of blue sky yay! (but am still eating the chocolate just in case ?)

East-West makes a bit of a difference as well as the days being shorter the further North you go. Sunset is usually about 5 minutes later in S. Wales than it is in London.
