I bought my horse a lovely, very expensive rambo stable rug. I put it on him last night for the first time and when I arrived at the yard this morning there was no sign of a rug, only a very pathetic looking shivering horse. I was a little confused and was ready to write a whinney message on the whiteboard asking whoever took it too return it. When I began to muck out his stable after turning him out I found said rug shoved under a bank. He has managed to wriggle his way out of it (all the fastenings where still done up) and he has also pooed and weed all over it (the majority of it is all over the lining)
He is now going to wear a lightweight new zealand for a week while it's being cleaned ( It's the only stable rug I have bought for him so far all his other rugs are turnouts). I will have no sympathy for him if he gets cold as he brought it upon himself. If I am feeling nice I may buy him another stable rug- but not a rambo one in case he does it again!
