Well done Amazona for helping this horse. I really hope that both the horse and the owner recover fully.
The police couldnt get any help with the injured pony at all
It was a sad situation were we spent about an hour trying to get vet help for his horse.

I am shocked that Minster vets, as one of the largest vets in the Yorkshire area, were unwilling to come out and see to the pony, as an RTA victim, without your credit card details, that is not the way vets are supposed to work! I really hope that you are reimbursed by the owner tbh, if only to prove that certain posters on this thread were sooo wrong, but if not then that the BEVA scheme comes through for you. I hope that you will continue to update us on both pony and owner, they both sound very brave. I am sure that the owner will be relieved to know that his pony is being well cared for in what must have been a very distressing situation for all concerned.
Another one who should read the thread before commenting!
Accidents happen and both are lucky to not have more serious injuries. Well done to all involved for helping.
************UPDATE**************
Have visited the horse this morning and pleasantly pleased how bright he is ... am amazed ...a really tough cookie.
His neck and shoulder is very sore but walked out nicely if a little stiff.
...I have heard from his owner and he is amazingly out of hospital but is now on crutches and very very sore. ... also a very tough cookie !!!
as for the charities and people supposedly there to help in this situation ... am getting fed up with answering machines even for numbers which are suppose to be emergency numbers... have spoken to the vets again this morning and pointed out about the BEVA scheme but they say they are not aware of it and they will look in to it ... so will continue to use my credit card ...until !!!!
The vets we are using is Minster ... do not know the other half dozen the police attempted to get out ....will find out ....
His owner sounds a lovely man and he is hugley grateful for the help we all gave xxx
