I hate horse sales. I mean the scrubby type ones and actually the posh ones too but for different reasons. The last sale I went to I was so upset to see a mare and foal and the mare trying so hard to keep her foal safe and away from people that I said I wouldn’t go back until I could bring one home. Well I can now but Melton my local has stopped doing them and I know about Brecon but it’s a trek. Any Midlands ish horse sales you folks know about? Not elite or bloodstock just somewhere I can pick up a youngster and give it a nice start?

York usually do horse sales once a month but don’t know what the set up is now after COVID if you google York sales it gives you all the forthcoming dates

Do they still have sales in Leominster? I've got a feeling they might have stopped but worth a check.

Llanybydder would be another option especially if you like Welshies. Not always the greatest quality though. Builth would have been more at the quality end of the Welsh market but Brightwells, the auctioneers, pulled out. No idea if any others are taking over.

They aren't doing horse auctions at York anymore they do tack auctions online only. They don't think they will be resuming them either.
