Horse communicators - has anyone use one?

I'm toying with the idea of getting someone out (who has been highly recommended to me). Part of me thinks that anything is worth a try within reason, and the other part of me is screaming "Don't waste your money!"

I just wondered if anyone had any experiences, good or bad, that they could share?
 
I'm a total skeptic, as in, you couldn't get more skeptical of most things like this than me. But one of my very good friends had an excellent result with the 'black box' and I know others who have got a lot out of a visit or communication with Robert Pring.
I had a dressage lesson with Robert last year and he's a good egg. Not the sort of person that will tell you your horse pulled a chariot in a previous life or anything daft. If I was at my wits end with something I couldn't explain, I think I'd try anything, this included. Good luck.
 
My friend had one done by phone from a photo as she wanted to look into his past etc as he was very unsettled when she bought him but couldn't trace back as the wasn't any info on the internet about 15 years ago. Can't remember the fine details but afterwards she managed to trace his breeder and then another person who had owned him and nothing was correct from the reading and she was told from the reading he was an American sports horse? He was bred in Ireland. My conclusion if you want one doing make sure it's written down or recorded

I had Robert Pring out to my horse yesterday. It was really interesting, she definitely made some relevant comments! I'm glad I had him out, I enjoyed it and it confirmed a few things for me.
 
I had Ginny Patterson come to the yard to do all of the horses. She was spot on with most of what she said. She said things that no one could possibly have known, although I think a lot of it was reading the people rather than the horses. She said my mare was telling her my mother was having heart palpitations that morning. Mum was stood watching. She had! I didn't even know. She was extremely specific in everything she said. The spookiest and saddest thing she said which we didn't make sense of at the time was that my mare and her gelding companion (they were actually stabled the furthest apart so she couldn't have known) where joined spiritually. A few weeks later, I was forced to put my mare to sleep and shockingly, the gelding suffered a massive colic the following morning and had to be PTS too. It's a small yard and the chances of two horses being PTS so close together was minuscule and just devastating.
 
I was quite sceptical about it, but I spoke to Ann Dee over the phone. One of the first things she mentioned was the scarring behind her ears, which it hadn't told her about. Halfway through the reading she said to me, oh,she is really starting to relax now, at which point z got down and rolled right next to me, something she had never done before, or since.
I also had a reading myself with a psychic, again a bit sceptical, but it was utterly amazing, she knew specifics, which she could not have looked up anywhere, and she loved miles from me, with no connection to me at all.
 
I have had 2 recent communications using Holly Davis and both have been so accurate and pinpointed physical issues in both cases, which thanks to knowing the precise detail I have had addressed for both horses.
I have used other communicators in the past and they have all been accurate and the information very helpful. I think they are exellent value for money.

Horse is showing signs of pain when ridden, has spent 2 days at vets and every test has come back clear. Vet is recommending a bone scan, or failing that, to start treatment on what she suspects is the issue. Everyone who's seen her, apart from my YO, think it's a pain issue rather than behavioural. And I'm just wondering if a communicator could help shed any light on it!
 
I was also a sceptic until I watched one communicate with my very sensitive horse. He literally went to lie down beside her in the stable, but she had to gently tell him that there wasn't enough bed down to be safe for him. This was a horse I had owned for 7 years and never seen laid down. She just had an amazing way with horses and the horse's physical reaction to her could not be faked.
At one point he was 'telling' her about his separation anxiety, which I hadn't mentioned, and backed himself into the corner of his box and was swaying and shaking, clearly distressed.
The upsetting part was when he 'said' that he was sad and felt he had let me down because he couldn't do what I wanted him to do any more. He was a clipped out extremely fit looking TB so there was no way she could have known that I had just decided that his dressage career was over due to his arthritis.
He is now happily retired so hopefully he understands that he hasn't let me down, bless him.
 
Neighbours and I both had Isobel Hogton out. Now, my neighbour is probably one of the most sceptical blokes you'll ever meet and was completely prepared for it to be a load of nonsense. Isobel arrived and the first thing she said was, 'Wait a minute, before I see your horses - that dog's got the most enormous headache,' and pointed at the one out of their four collies (who was running around happily with the rest of them) that had managed to run head-first into a stable door as it was being closed that morning. He was converted on the spot!
 
I had Robert Pring out and he said some very interesting things. He told us things that although we knew we hadn't told him. Said some very interesting and relevant things! :)
 
I know Catherine Walker from another forum and although I am a sceptic, I was at my wits end with my horse. Home bred, very sensitive, the most ungenerous horse I have ever known, really hard work to ride and I have spent years eliminating all sorts of things. Saddle fit, feet, diet, you name it and still he behaved as though he was 30 years old. So I asked her if she could find out what his problems were and she reported back that he was stiff, especially shoulders and his front end, his feet were not a major issue for him. I had his selenium levels tested and they were on the floor - topped him up and among other changes he is now much better. If I remember rightly the cost was £35 - not a lot compared with what vets will charge you and it might very well give you a place to start.
(Incidentally Catherine also helped me locate my missing cat about a month ago, from 50 miles away - she can't understand why others can't communicate with animals)
 
I had a reading done by Ginny Patterson and it blew me away. I just sent photos and a brief history - eg age/ breed/ gender and a few very open questions like - is she happy? what can I change about her life? I got back a CD of Ginny having a conversation with my horse going into enormous detail about things she could never know about, including exact details about my other horse being PTS, her training regime, her life as a foal, my strengths and weaknesses as a rider, other horses on the yard. It went on and on and was completely mind blowing. I thought this particular horse would be a good candidate for testing out AC as she was bred by a family member and I've owned her since she was 2years old so wouldn't be easy to fob off.
 
I have used Anne Dee repeatedly & OMG she is *amazing*. Spot on, time after time, with things she couldn't possibly have guessed. Makes me feel v weird sometimes as she is soooooo accurate & tuned in.

A friend of mine used one some years ago for a horse with a head shaking/tossing issue. The person didn't visit the yard - I think either a photo or snip of hair were sent to the communicator, who then did the 'reading' over the phone with no prior knowledge of the health issues. The YO's had gone down every medical avenue, but no problem showed up, so as a last resort they used a communicator. The communicator said that the horse said 'Can you tell them to stop looking in my mouth' (they kept checking his teeth) and that the reason he was distressed and tossing his head was because they'd taken his friend away.

The yard was a competition yard and the horse had grown quite fond of its next door neighbour, who'd been in for schooling and was duly sent home when his education was finished. So many horses came and went on the yard that it never occurred to them that the horse was missing a pal.
 
Another vote for Robert Pring - he was spot on about things he couldn't possibly have known. Those who knock it, should try it :)
 
actually, thanks for this thread OP. It's made me consider it for one of mine... wouldn't have made the connection before. In for a penny etc

Likewise! You'd be hard pressed to find someone more sceptical than me, but reading some of these replies is making me think "why the heck not?"

I'd love someone to talk to one of my boys as I'm clutching at straws a bit with him. Now to work out which one to pick .....
 
I've had a reading from a friend-of-friend for my horse, which was FOC. It was good to some extent, but I'm keen to try a well regarded professional to see what is thrown up.

That reminds me of a psychic fair I went to once. I had a reading from A piece of jewellery and the lady could not come up with one thing I could associate with. After about 15 mins of her plucking out random names and situations that made no sense to me at all, she gave me back my ring and the money I'd paid and admitted she wasn't 'getting' anything!

I then went across the hall and sat with another pyschic who painted a perfect picture of my grandparents who she said were 'with' me and went into details that no one could have known, like my grandads pet name for my nan.

Two completely different experiences in the space of an hour.

I do believe there are people with the ability to communicate on a different level to most of us. And it would make sense, to me, that they can't necessarily tap into this with every person or animal, at any time. However I do also think there are a lot of people that cash in on other peoples desperation.
