Horse in Tescos - Police and RSPCA

I really do not see why the RSPCA have got involved. I suppose they think it possible it may slip on the floor or eat a potato. Do they know horses shouldn't eat potatoes though?

Best lawyers or not, the girl should at very least have a slap on the wrist/warning.

I just can't think why anyone would put other people at risk. All very well saying it's hazardous on the roads etc - but people sort of expect to see horses on roads. They don't expect to walk around the corner of an aisle to be confronted by a gigantic horse which is slipping and sliding everywhere.

I also can't imagine what sort of person would put their 'beloved' horse in such danger either. :-(

I quite agree, no one knows 100% how their horse is going to react in an alien environment like that, no matter how much we like to think we know them. Silly woman.

OP can I ask have you reported the emancipated horse tethered on the river bank to either BHS or WHW? Horses have drowned slipping into rivers and with a tether it would not be able to help itself.

Yes, to RSPCA and WHW, the horse has water and grazing and they are not taking it further. I'm sorry I annoyed people with my OP, I perhaps misinterpreted the article, or the media beefed it up - I just wish the RSPCA would get involved with actual wrong doing.

Have a read through the thread. The rspca haven't done anything. The police have had discussions with them but that's it. This is a police investigation.

If people remember the case of the lady who took her horse into McDonald's and it poo'd on the floor she was fined for "causing alarm and distress to other customers and staff" which I think could also be applied to this rider.

Overall she is very lucky that no-one was injured, imagine if the horse had panicked and run through the glass doors / sides to the store or even around the isles. Very foolish.

So why aren't WHW getting involved with the emaciated horse?

People need to get a grip lol! I thought the video was rather amusing, I however dont like this neknomination games and dont support it, but there was no evidence that the horse was harmed in any way! People dont kick up a fuss about Jackass on MTV where people are being paid silly amounts of money and doing worse stunts than this! I would be happy my horse would have been so bombproof to deal with the electric doors haha! Go on girl! Im glad youve got some guts!!

I'm always up for a laugh and don't think I'm a killjoy in any way, but I didn't find it funny/amusing/entertaining in any way, shape or form.

And you are more than entitled to have your views and opinions. Likewise, so is Carrots&Mints.

Generally the people on Jackass do stunts which are likely to harm themselves and nobody else. That's the difference.

The horse may not have been harmed, but by taking it in there, it was putting it at a high risk of harming someone, or itself. People do not expect to come across a horse walking around a supermarket. Like I say, my OH's kids often go off by themselves around the aisles to do 'errands' for us to pick stuff up as they find it 'grown up'. Doesn't bare thinking about if they came around the corner straight in line with the back end of a large horse who is slipping and sliding around.

It's all very well saying 'but it didn't happen' - that's akin to saying it's ok for someone to walk into a shopping mall with a loaded gun, so long as nobody got shot.

Probably it's just that Tesco are a little sensitive about finding a little unexplained horseflesh in their food aisles.

*snort*

Mmmm....I reckon that the cob normally shops in Waitrose - hence the problem being in Tesco.......

I reckon it normally shops at Pizza Hut, the fatty!

Also, to all the people saying she stole Pepsi, how do you know the friend who passed it to her didn't pay?

Has anyone actually said she stole it? I know I have wondered if she ever did pay for it as you can hear them ask her as they are all leaving the store. She was asked the question on here or on facebook, can't remember where I saw it, but she didn't answer. It's a can of pepsi, hardly the crime of the century but I guess the police can't let it go with all of this publicity so no doubt we'll find out.

I kind of want to be nominated now so I can ride a horse into a Findus factory and wait for them to ell me they don't allow horses in their factories ;)
