apparently with my postcode NFU can’t insure me / my horse

rang Petplan equine

they didn’t ask age of horse come to think of it, just breed

he’s a thoroughbred 13 yrs in good health

Got a quote of approx £610 a year

what are your quotes like?

Thanks

Just insured an 11 year old cob, no existing issues (that I know of!) for £420 pa (£500 excess, up to 4K per claim pa). That was with Scottish Equestrian. With a lower excess (£150) I was also looking at £620.

What do you need him insured for? Activity category’s impact prices a lot, so depending on that will allow you to compare to other peoples.

My 2yo is insured with animal friends for 460 a year (250 excess 6k per claim). My other horse was with them also for a similar price before I lost her with the same excess and claim amount.

NFU wouldn’t insure the 2yo because I’d made claims in the past 3 years, despite it being for a different horse.

I have a feeling that Animal Friends is part of the E&L family, in which case you may want to do some more research.

nope. They’re fantastic too, pay out for every invoice my vet sent via their online portal. I’ve never had an issue with them and I maxed my insurance out with my other horse

So my quote with animal friends is £522 a year.
Do you think the fact I live quite central in London is affecting my quotes? As I have to input that.
although the horses location I input is in outer London in the countryside?

I ticked for Thurs party insurance incase damage to others etc with a high excess.

hmmm
