Just seen this on FB - have scanned through comments and doesn't seem to have been found yet.....

Text from post Horse in photo missing in Burley Rocks area of New Forest, fully tacked up still. I fell off and he ran away from the group. We were visiting the area so it's not familiar to him. Please call me if sighted, very worried owner

[Don't want to share phone numbers on here, but they are on the FB post]

I saw that too. Hope the horse is ok, so scary for horse and owner.

So scary. I would be terrified about the traffic and cattle grids for a horse that doesn't know the area. I have had a horse escape in a panic from a showground once. Thankfully she ended up at a yard known to friends, but not before she ran 4 miles down country lanes. I lost her 11 years ago at the grand age of 35, but I still get flashbacks occasionally. I really hope this horse is found safe and sound. The poor owner must be worried sick. :(

I saw too, I'm always reminded of the one on salisbury plain who got stuck in a bush for the best part of a week iirc, always the worry they've got hung up on something. Best scenario he finds some pony friends :(, they must be so worried.

I can find no credible info to say he's been found. I wish people wouldn't repeat this unless it's confirmed by a reliable source .

I was just excited, (and hopeful) and thinking why would anyone lie about that. Doing my best to try confirm.

If he has been then I can imagine owners first concern would be to go get him.
People just tend to repeat what they hear ,.not necessarily anything malicious, usually just a bit misguided .

must be very stressful for her. I hope he is found first thing tomorrow.
We lost one at work once , he was found and put in a farmers field for us to collect him, then jumped over the hedge and escaped again, we feared the worst but luckily he was found the next morning happily grazing still tacked up!

After seeing a comment on the missing fb post i have ordered a id tag to put on my saddle with my number, emergency contact and yard no. I usually hack alone.

There was a sighting before midnight last night I believe which was osted 4 hrs ago. Hopefully they've narrowed down the area.

I hope so much he's okay.

Saw the ad last night. She must be going through hell.

Have seen that she's managed to borrow a horse and is going out at first light to look near where he was spotted late last night. Got everything crossed that she manages to find him.
