Horse Onesies...I've seen it all now!

Nearly, but not quite!!

A friend's mare impaled herself on something in the field and had the tummy pyjamas which kept the wound clean while it healed, blooming brilliant! However, I think the onesie you linked is crazy OTT!

Haha my YO suggested I get one for my boy to keep him clean before shows, though tbh I think he'd run a mile if I came near him with one! :P

Just showed my 15 year old son and he says he will pay for one for my big cob just so he can see the look on his face with one on.:biggrin3:

For a sweet itch pony like mine who would strip all the hair and skin off his hind legs if not carefully managed this would be a great buy - the only reason i havent invested is that although the products are decent quality and well thought out the company isnt the most reliable according to various comments i have seen.

Fastenings are largely velcro so i wouldnt be worried about injury from one of these personally

Exactly that, there've been a HUGE amount of negative threads and comments about this company over the internet, though in general the comments I've read would disagree re the decent quality.
Not something I'm in the market for but if I were I'd not be buying one of these particular ones. The legs are overkill for me.

i am getting one as soon as I can afford it!!! anything to hopefully put an end to 3.30am starts to re-scrub my coloured before a show

Absolutely blinking ridiculous. Some people just have no consideration for the horse as an ANIMAL not a surrogate child fps.

What about their coats and very intricate self regulating heating system?! Why do humans always think we can do better than mother nature?!

I've looked after a horse in a onsie. Hate the legs don't think they are comfy at all. The one thing this particular onsie had going for it was that it was just a plain blue colour and not patterned. I'm not a fan. Don't think there's much wrong having a rug with a belly cover though.

I wouldnt touch shwmae with a massive bargepole, but another company have a design and are launching them at hoys, apparently. Awesome idea to keep clean before a show! I had something similar 25 years ago for my grey pony, fairly suprised its taken this long for someone to create another version!

accident waiting to happen

and the filthy one at work would still get dirty as she manages to create poo piles to compress so the liquid is squeezed out and soaks through any rug you put on her and she still gets big poo liquid smelly/stinky stains

I don't like the legs tbh..

I have an old Sherpa rug.. Double fleece, full neck and face.. Pretty much the same but no legs..

I don't rug often, or to excess, but a few winters ago I had a very poorly horse who had to be kept extra toastie on vets orders.. He had the Sherpa under a lightweight full neck rain sheet..

Handy piece of kit at the time, and like hens teeth to find.

It's strange, you wouldn't think it would be possible simply to measure them in ' and ", because as ponies are all slightly different shapes, you would think it would rub on most of them...?

I would actually buy one for predominately white/coloured cob - just to use in the stable the night before hunting/comps etc.

However although he is a sensible chap, I wouldn't turn out in one.

Also I wouldn't pay those prices, so sadly 'I'm out'!

After hearing a horror story about a horse who had to be PTS due to a hood, I wouldn't ever use one again!
