Our old 29 year old horse was limping last Sunday, and we got the vet over. We live in the South of France so unfortunately Danilon is not available or known here. Our old horse is rather wary of vets and an injection was impossible. The vet prescribed Bute and antibiotics. He's a very suspicious Camargue and after managing to get a small amount into him by mixing it with honey and spreading it on bread we got a little into him. He went on strike and is now refusing it mixed with apple sauce, honey, hidden in carrots, in his barley etc etc. After 48 hours we're pretty desperate. He's refusing all treats even without anything mixed in. Luckily he has stopped limping. We are going to have to give up on all the medicine now. I read about Danilon being palatable even to picky eaters like him, but without a prescription it is unobtainable and the local vet has never heard of it. Anybody have any left over to mail to France?
