Im in bed ill on a saturday night, and very bored, so i thought is start my first poll!

What colour do you generally choose for your horse rugs, or does colour not factor in your choice at all.

Obviously i realise price is generally the most important factor but what colour preferences do you have.

forgot to add
patterned / checked designs

Cant figure out how to change the poll!!

I realise most people choose rugs for the price, this poll is purely for fun.

Say the rugs are the right price, what colour patterns would you normally choose. I find my tastes do play a part on my choices, obviously depending on price!

I really don't mind, the only thing I might draw a line at is putting pink on my gelding but I guess if the rug was cheap enough I wouldn't care.

For travel/show rugs I do tend to stick to a colour theme which varies depending on the beast :D

i go for pretty much any colour so long as it's cheap.

i do draw a line though at pink. i won't get anything pink for any of my horses! lol

The make, filling, denier, and price are all more important to me than colour. It would have to be a pretty awful colour or pattern to put me off if everything else was right.

However I do particually love the royal blue Bucas on my chestnut, it really does become her. :)

Any colour as long as the price is right, but the "right price" for pink is them paying me!

haha its so interesting how everyone differs!

If the ideal rug was available and i had the choice of colour, i think id choose plain with coloured binding myself :)

Whatever really, but most of my rugs are blue or burgandy...

I was mean and put a pink and grey one on my stallion last winter, luckily he rolled in the mud ;)

If it is what I want, and the price is good then I don't give a monkeys what colour it is, although I do like pretty rugs.

Today I bought three black and pink rain sheets for $55, a silver and black MW, and a gold and black MW for $45 each (I have every colour now including a powder blue one:o)

I purposely went in because I knew blankets were on sale and I needed these to replace trashed ones and for the warmer weather, I would have bought dreary blue ones if there had been no alternative.

I love any rug that has a nice check pattern, as long as the colours go with the horse, hate navy on black horses, don't know why just do!

all things being equal re price, quality, fit, brand etc., I like plain colours like blue and green.

Although I do have a crimson plaid one thats nice on my bay (also a hideous hideous purple plaid one that the mail order company sent me as theyd run out of the one Id ordered and upgraded me to a more expensive equivalent!)

Id have to get one hell of a bargain to buy pink, or those awful patterned ones (like these)

I have a light beige Amigo, and that's my favourite colour as it's vaguely mud-coloured anyway, and also my horse doesn't bake if the sun comes out, like he would in a dark coloured rug.

I voted 'other' because turnout rugs I tend not to worry (though I do avoid bright pinks and purples!) fleeces/sheets and stable rugs I go for a mix of blues/greys and blacks, and the odd brown fleece.

Couldn't give a monkey's! :D I'm more interested in fit than anything, and wouldn't buy a rug simply because it was cheap. Having said that I find it wildly amusing that rug "fashion" means I can usually buy last season's rugs at very reduced prices :D

My first priority is that my rugs fit the horses perfectly and the only ones Im happy with are rambos. I dont mind about the colour at all but I do try to make sure they are all different colours, much easier to find on the racks and if im away I can say- 'stick the green one on' rather than trying to explain the middle weight bla bla.

Prefer plan colours, I do like red rugs, and love Amigo's

I think all horses no matter what colour always look smart in a bright red rug, both mine in are red rugs (amigo and DH) with purple OR boots....clash beautifully :o :D

Doesn't really bother me as long as the rug is good quality and fits well. If I had the choice I would say red (Like the amigos) as I think my gelding looks rather fetching in red :p

Most of mine are blue, purely because it looks smart and suited my (dark bay) horse. Although I have a pink and grey mesh cooler, because it was on sale I wanted one and it was the only colour my local saddler had; and one bright pink & black turnout because I wanted a specific brand/rug and again it was the only colour she had! It actually looked pretty fetching ...
