I have no problem at all with halal done properly.
I am probably going to be shot down for this but no way would I let two oldies travel to be slaughtered never, it is not the pts at a slaughterhouse that I have a problem with, but travelling two old horses one lame is disgusting.
I see you are up north so they are going to have a fair journey as far as I am aware there is no one up this end I am only 60 miles north of you.
If there was a place near fair enough I am sure the hunt would let them pay in instalments if they asked, if they have not had drugs it is 150 for the hunt to despatch, failing that a vet would let them pay it off in instalments, I think to do this to two old friends is despicable, I have no problem with pts when needed but travelling these horses to have it done is something I consider very unkind and unfair when other options are available.
hmmmm. or the halal ones. I had one on my patch so saw what it entails - and now a huge amount of meat is killed in this way, and that, folks, it what you buy at your local supermarket.![]()
Oh and forgot to say in last post but the slaughterhouses do not send people out buying horses so he must have been trying to sell them, hence why the people did not take them, can you imagine potters or turners sending out people to look at every horse that went through.
Maybe a local meat dealer but not the way you would want your horses to go pm me and I will help you.
OK. Here is some footage from Potters, taken on the QT by animal activists.
This is what happens here. Make your own mind up.
Personally, I see nothing distressing at all about the actual act, it is exactly what happens when a vet puts a horse down, the gun may vary but the horse is gone before it hits the ground. I also like the fact that the horses in the pen have hay and seem quite calm.
I have used Potters in the past and would have no hesitation in using their services in the future.
