 I wouldn't spend money on a teddy bear for a child forget about my horse!
The Ideal stable companion.... Really? Its all sold out, wonder how many horses are happily cuddling teddies at night 🤣

Imagine being wealthy enough to spend near as makes no difference fifty quid on something that's completely contrary to a horse's nature and is going to covered in poop, hay and shavings. 🤣 Must be nice.

This is hilarious, who on earth would buy that? shows how gullible horse people can be. My gelding would fiddle with it and totally trash it, my mare would just ignore it.

We had an orphan foal who had a huge teddy bear for company for a couple of days (felt like a life time) while we were finding a surrogate mare (before the days of SM). We had to remove it from the stable when the mare arrived though as she was scared of it. Luckily the foal was more interested in his new mum than his teddy bear.

I know a few who have these: the teddy, the lama, and another who has a hanging carrot, etc. I don't think the mare uses her's much, but the geldings seem to enjoy them from time to time. There are far worse things out there.

Well Lari was always faffing with next doors manger and used to pull things out, and have the stable girls in stitches with waving around various items in his mouth and throwing things as far from his door as he could including a whip, poop scoop and a bucket. So I bought him some indestructible toys from Wilko. He never played with them once!

Seems that only items that are not meant to be taken are way more exciting than items bought at cost by your owner! And of course telling him off resulted in the tongue being stuck out at you! :)

I would buy those kong teddies for dogs with the rope inside instead of fluff. Great for teething and like €15

I've been in several stables that have various cuddly toys hanging in some stables. I personally find them quite grim as if some toy hater has gone around hanging Mini Mouse and Ted E Bear. I suspect geldings are more likely to play with them than mares. I wouldn't bother for the short time mine actually spend in their stables and they wouldn't touch them any way unless I trained them to.

I think if any of mine even noticed there was a Teddy in their stables I can’t imagine they would bother with it, I leave all manner of stuff in my stables all the time. Ziggy is fully stocked with moisturiser, lip balm, a radio along with his in use rugs and all manner of other bits. He never touches any of it.

Surely it would get stinking and covered in bedding and worse though

All 3 of mine would have a field day with that lot! I can't even leave a wheelbarrow in the field unattended for 2 mins as it becomes a climbing frame! So does the quad and the lorry and anything else that looks like it could be interesting! The joys of having 3 boys in a field together! 🤣

I can leave most things in with Arabi he won't touch it even a grooming box with treats in.

Louis I bought a grooming box for his stable I didn't put treats in his, next morning it was smashed to bits with contents chewed and been thrown everywhere he will often pull a rug off his rack and stamp on it chew it then p on it it's just what he does, he chews the guttering around my stable the horse is a menace😂😂

Horses trying to drive a quad bless em 🤣

I hate attempts to anthropomorphise horses
Usually it's used as an excuse to treat them in ways that are convenient to us, not beneficial to them eg 'duvet days'

I have three boys in a field together! They just seem uninterested by objects. I can't leave anything out side the one door or it will be hurled across the yard, be it a bucket of water or barrow full of poo.....

What you mean you can't call them fur babies??? (joking - I hate that expression)

The cleaner at the last project I was on kept referring to her cats as fur babies, drove me nuts!
