Horsebox/ Lorry route planner

I have seen a few subscription ones aimed at truckers but is there such a thing that doesnt cost the earth or is ideally free for a 3.5t horsebox? Does anyone use one and find it good?
I’ve always thought a horse box one would be a good idea as you can’t trust a SatNav not to take you down a narrow lane or tell you to do a u turn when you’re towing a trailer. However, I feel it’s a bit too nichey as a business idea.

Yes we are off to Shropshire at the weekend and often to Flint N Denbigh fun rides and some of the roads are a bit narrow!

A lot of people use a TomTom I think that can have the parameters set on it. We bought a specialist lorry one years ago at HOYS and I must admit it was rather rubbish. I generally google map and if not sure, use the little yellow person to do a streetview to check.

I use a free app called 'address finder' it will literally take you to a house. It can use either google maps or ways. but gets you very close to the location.

I was wondering about this yesterday.
I plotted the routes to 2 fun rides. I am pretty certain there’s a road restriction of some kind on one of the routes but I cannot find a reference to it anywhere.
I tried to find a route finder for 3.5 vans and failed.
I gave up and am going to the ride that I’m certain the route is safe.

There's quite a few around, mostly aimed at Motor homes and caravans, which gives the same results as they have the same dimension ranges and challenges. And the same lower speeds for estimating arrival. They vary in cost and accuracy though. I trialled CoPilot, it's a phone based app and had a free trial. But it took me down a narrow lane marked non-HGV (ok, I'm not a HGV) but I could see said lane took a 80 degree hairpin bend ahead so turned around and never used it again.

As mentioned above, I tend to plan ahead on Google maps, use street view to check out any suspect sections and then I don't deviate from my planned route (check you're on your expected routed and don't accept any reroutes).

I have trouble making a call on my phone. This is well documented on this forum!

I tried google street view on my ipad but I think I got RSI tapping the arrow as I had only the vaguest idea where the obstruction was.

I managed to overlay a map of all the low bridges in the country into Google maps. Doubt it matters for a 3.5 but very useful for those with a larger box. Also has weigh bridges and truck stops.

That's the only link I can get, realise it looks a bit suspicious! Google hgv alliance low bridge map.
