As title really!

For everyone who has had horses and ponies who have been passed around and now have a "forever home" and for people who have decided their horses/ponies are with them forever :)
"Our horses and ponies are with us for LIFE!" clique???? Needs a better name though - my brain has vacated after 6 hours of work tonight!! :p

Yep I think I'm a candidate for this. We've got daughters 1st pony, 2nd pony and horse. Oh and a donkey who I originally got as a companion for my old pony 24 years ago!

not sure I qualify

I own them for life however 2/3 are out on loan, one with arthritis so a gentle hacking home, the other absolutely nothing wrong, still highly saleable as wins everything riding club level however cannot bare to sell as he looked after me so I look
out forr him and the only way to do this is to still own him (loan home is neighbouring yard ).

You do :) you still have them for life and I guess should there be any problems you'd have them back??

my boy is with me forever. He has had a hard time in a past home and had been labelled as dangerous but we have the most amazing bond so he will never go anywhere for his sake. I would hate to think he would end up being passed around or sent for meat because he was misunderstood. He is my one in a million horse and we are definitely 'together forever'.

Can i join pleaseee? My 3 have a home for life, my mare has not had a proper home or a name even for 14 years ( named her Lunar!), i had her in march and she now has both! She is with me forever. My 2 boys are exactly that...my 2 boys! One since a foal, he is now only 4 but definatley has a home for life, foalie is 15 months, been with me from 6 months, no way is he going anywhere either! I adore my little herd! x

Excellent clique!

My girly is going nowhere (or if she does its with me in tow!)!

Why? Because she didn't have the most conventional start to life, so I seriously doubt she'd ever be resellable to a responsible home, because I implictly promised her previous owner (who has since passed away :() that I'd take care of her, because she has given me many hours of enjoyment and pleasure and so deserves a home for life, but mainly because I'm a sap and it'd feel like my heart's been ripped out if I let her go.

Mine definately does, bred her & she's 19 now & have done everything from local riding club, hunting, bsja (all of which she is still doing). I have loaned her younger sister out as she is only fit for hacking now (to someone I know that lives locally) I think we owe it to our horses to look after them after all they have given us, and if not find them another good home. If your competition horse can no longer do the job, take the time to ask around, there are loads of people who just want a happy hacker and will probably give your horse a good retirement.

Yes all fab stories :) lovely to see so many horses being kept till the last days!
I propose - "Our horses and ponies have forever homes" clique
or "Our horses and ponies are with us for life!" clique...
suggestions???

Whatever it's called count me in! My two girls are not going anywhere. One is 21 and I've had her since she was 7 and the other I've had for nearly eight year now and she is 15. I'm really lucky in that I know the history of both of them from when they were born, too.

Could be me talking in places! Kelly was rescued from some awful people and I don't think she'd bond with anyone else (she chooses people rather than the other way round!) I p/l'd her owner's first pony but started borrowing Kelly to ride out on when I was teaching my bf to ride (long story :p) and owner was very surprised at how she took to me and asked me to take her on when Rebel got taken back. That was 5 years ago, I've never looked back and we have a promise whatever happens, she will stay with both of us, or one of us - I don't think she'd cope with anyone else!!
I can't imagine being without her, and I couldn't love her any more than I do! Soppy sods we are!! ;)
