"Horses and ponies for life!" clique anyone..??

I have re schooled a few ex race horses and found them great new homes.

I have always tried to find them someone who wanted them fore life.
But what i also look for is someone who cares enough that if that isnt possible then they will be as fussy as i was when finding then a new owner.

I always keep in touch with them and even took one back and re homed him again when they decided not to keep him forever.

I have said this but with so many downs and not enough ups,my girls left me on saturday. I need a hiatus, time to think etc. The ones I own are in livery....if the right homes come up I will let them go,if not, they'll stay in livery until one does. I will never ever let them have a precarious future, they deserve more than that. I will,if necessary put them in livery for the rest of their lives, just to safeguard their future.

You're safegaurding them - that is what this is about!

I know circumstances change, but it does bug me when you go to look at a horse and the seller insists that they will only sell to you if you 'keep the horse for life'..... when they clearly aren't!!! :)

Yes thats right....my circumstances have changed dramatically. Family illness,my own health and the needs of my horses still remain paramount. I took on a commitment when I bought them, and this I will fulfill. I do not expect a home for life, but I do expect kindness, and will ensure that....even if it means I keep having them back :)

My horse has a home for life, have never even thought of parting with him even when he put me in hospital and against everyones wishes, i now have my dream horse, perfect in every way, he is 17 next year and will end his days with me.

I hope i can join too..... I have had my mare for 17 years and when she could no longer compete at the age of 10 i kept her and bought another one. They will both be with me for life which I hope is a very long time from now.

Can I join??

Had my first pony for 25 years and second horse for 26 yrs both were in thirties when they went. Now have TB mare (Nightmare) which I bred who is 19 now and daughters horse who is a spring chicken at 14yrs. Both will be with me life.

So many downs with my horse, but I couldn't imagine selling him (not that anyone would want him :D) and I love him alot. He's here to stay (got him aged 4 - 5 years ago he is now 9 ) and he will live out the rest of his days here with us (many years to come hopefully!) Still hope to find the horse of my life someday though.

Owned 7 horses in my life and only ever sold one (and she put me in hospital more than once...)

My lads now have a home for life - I'm rubbish at selling horses!

Count me in. I have known Aniseed since she was a foal and bougt her as a 3 year old. We have now been together for eight years and she will without doubt be with me for the rest of her life as she is such a special little lady. I hope she thinks herself veryy luck to have only had two owners from birth!:)

Does it count if your stuck with them ie no one else would ever want horrid ;):p:D:D
LOL. I don't mean it realy. He's my next forever pony. He'll be with me till the end just like Lucy was. :D:D I think he's had his fair share of owners having had 6 already bless him. :(

My 7 year old and his 20 year old mother, and the cat now 6 her chum was pts a few weeks ago with kidney failure at the age of 20.
I sold a horse 3 years ago and I still regret it but I don't own any land otherwise I would have kept him as well.

oooh finally a group I qualify for. Had my boy for nearly 10 years, took him to uni and back and he's with me for life (besides which he's far too much of a headache for anyone else)
