(Also in NL..) Many years ago the owner of my loan mare, Lady, nearly lost her when a large lump covering her side basically exploded..To this day the vets don't know what it was and she has a large scar down her side which usually doesn't affect her, however there is always a very small soft lump at the bottom.
Every now and then it flairs up and the lump becomes hard and her teats also become swollen and i can 'milk' a liquid from them. She has seen a vet about this, and a course of antibiotics clears everything up.
I can't remember if last time I carried on as normal or if she had to have time off. Is it usual to stop exercising a horse on antibiotics? Should I just walk and see how she is? Or just leave her?
Sorry for the long rambling post..
