Went down to keep watch on my herd through local firework display and this ^^^^^.
Big organised display, not 100yds from the field. Huge explosions, bangs, lighting up the whole sky. They paid more attention to someone walking down the lane part way through. Some were eating, one decided to play 'giving mummy a kiss', as I was there. Even the yearlings were quiet. Polite interest, nothing more. Anyone else have this experience?

Yes. Where my boy was kept (he was 8 months old at the time) there was a house across the road that had a big display every year. His field was a little back and i figured that he was better off out that being in his stable where he could have done more damage if he panicked. Apparently he was stood there watching them.....

Yes. It was sufficiently far away that the noise wasn't too bad, but I spent a (magical) few minutes with my then youngster watching the fireworks together. There were several horses kept in that field on top of a hill - some watched, some couldn't be bothered and carried on eating.

A few years ago my Arab (RIP) and my friends very nervous welsh were stood together watching the sky light up, wish I had of had my camera!
I only went to check them as I knew there was a display on that night so I stopped and watched it with them!! :)

Yes! On my old horse I was riding around the hay fields quite late and suddenly a massive firework display started in the adjacent field and he just stopped and watched, it was magic - both of us just stood for a while watching them and then trotted calmly back to the yard, I couldnt believe it but will never forget it. I think my current horse may have had a slightly different response

Yep, I was phoned to tell me that there was a firework display in the field across the lane from my horses. Raced down to find them not the least bit bothered.
I've also been to a rodeo and they let the fireworks off OVER the horses' pens and they didn't so much as twitch an ear.

Lucy loved to watch fireworks she used to get as close as she could when the neighbers let them off  My little dog loves them to. If he hears them I have to hold him up to the window so he can watch . While our german shep cowers in the corner.

I always found mine are quite happy standing and watching while munching there hay but they've always been out inc my 4 yr since birth , many horses adapt to it the ones who are left out ,
the ones that are in have no choice but to listen and not see which is why people have problems come firework night

Yes, mine do. Years ago as a kid I was on a big livery yard & working farm, very close to a huge public display that had been running forever. There were always plenty who'd seen it all before, so new & young horses followed their lead. Now we are half a mile from another public display, mine isn't the least fussed so the others copy her now. My cat likes watching them too, actually moves around to get a better view.

I've just moved mine away from the field that backs onto gardens as I don't want a repeat of a few years ago when Martha tried to gatecrash a bonfire party.
She'll do anything for a toffee apple!
I have never had a horse (nor a dog or cat for that matter) that didn't enjoy watching fireworks but I am paranoid about then starting fires.
