What horse paintings or pictures do you have in your house? At HOYS years ago I fell in love with Terry Kirkwood's pictures, plus I have a lovely little print that I really like the colours of.

I don't have any traditional horse pictures (apart from photos of my mini xc attempt!) but I have a needle felted Bobbi picture and intend to get a pencil drawn one too.

What pictures do you have and who is your favourite artist?

I have a portrait of my horse in the sitting room, it was a present for my 40th. Makes me smile everytime I see it.

I'm currently homeless but qhen I had a house I had these pictures...

Just a cheapy out of sainsburys/habitat but I thought it was cute

Screenshot_20220724-203550_Gallery.jpg

An artist friend in America sent me a print of one of her pictures as a thank you present.

I've bought this Mark Maggiori print but don't have it framed yet. I just want all of his work, and when I win the lottery I will buy an original, but perhaps a bit of overkill on the cowboy theme for a small Scottish House (if I ever find a house to buy again ?). I love his skies and clouds as much as the horses in his work.

I bought a couple of knock off canvases because I thought it was someone reselling their prints. He only does one print run of each picture then thats it and only does two runs a year. So if you miss it you miss it and I missed both these prints. I stuck them up in the spare room while I was selling it so the walls didn't look so bare.

My mum bought me this. It was on sale at a garden centre having an art show thing so she thought of me.

I feel the need to point out that everything was spaced out and it wasn't like going to a cowboy museum (unfortunately) ?

Oh and three b&w canvases of Chip, Doobie (my last ex racer) with my niece when she was wee and TPO

TPO very generously gave me this when my foal was young ? its such a cute picture and captured her nosy little face perfectly

I also have HHO to thank for this beauty, which came from Clodagh ?
Now we own the house i can paint a wall for it to go on, up to now its just been a spectacular backdrop for my bedside lamp ?

Many other pics on the walls but they are all photos.

I have 2 old Seaby wood cut paintings in the hallway, used to be on my granny's wall years ago, both are of 'Dartmoor ponies'.
I've a Cuneo print of shires and a hunting scene print by Lional Edwards.
Thinking about it, only 1 hanging picture downstairs is non equine ?

Theme upstairs is more moody French castles!

I have 8 Lydia Kiernan prints on various walls that I bought through the years when the print reminded me of one of my own horses.

I also have a drawing of the heads of my 3 mares, stallion and founding mares grandson done by Pilar Larcade in my lounge, along with a picture of my last riding horse that I lost at age 26 in 2019 done by her in my bedroom.

All are treasured memories.

I was given a set of placemats by this artist! My daughter bought them at Olympia.

We’re big fans of Amy Goodman - https://www.amygoodman.co.uk/
She has her workshop nearby and it’s always interesting seeing what horse sculptures she’s working on.

I’ve just clicked on that link and can’t believe how good she is, I could have happily bought most of them, but obviously can’t. If I had the money I would like a sculpture of my dogs , she is amazing

I have two

this one my friend gave me. It’s of my old Peggy Sue that she painted for her art portfolio at school

this one my OH got commissioned for me as a present. It’s of Peggy Sue and Flo. I’m not sure he will ever do better than this. (He’s bought me a car, a diamond engagement ring and many many other things but this is my favourite)

OOh what a lovely thread. Rowreach I do agree with you about Daniel Crane. Our house is dominated with ships and motoring art but I do have some space allotted to equestrian art.
My last and my present horse both have portraits, the NF mare, now sadly gone was painted by a cousin of mine who has a great talent but has not really used it, the still present mare has a portrait by an artist named Susan Poole, who is well known for her work on animals and archeology. I was lucky enough to be given this when I retired from the committee of a local club, Susan had been a member as well. I love Lionel Edwards and have several prints, I have a Cecil Aldin called The Water Jump which is a print of a horseman, probably the groom, jumping a water jump in the most perfect style. I have a pretty large Rosa de Bonheur print of The Horse Fair, for lack of wall space I have given on permanent loan, my Herring print, lovely grey mare in the stable with relaxed dogs around her, to my step daughter next door.
One Saturday, some years ago I went off to an antique fair on my own and joked I would come home with a Munnings! Believe it or not, I bought that day a Munnings print in an original old frame of Exmoor foals, it is really charming and cost me the grand sum of £11.00! I have a very interesting Russian enamel tile of a troika. I wish I could show these to you but i have no idea how to get photos from my camera/phone onto HHO. Sometimes I can send them to my self by email and then put them up but it doesn't always work!.

Most of the art on my walls is sailing related, but I do have a photo of Blue and a portrait of her by Lisa Wasilewski.

Oh, and it isn't framed or hung yet, but also this wee print by Glynn Matthews. Which, yes, I bought because it reminded me of Blue! It'll be going in my study when my new house is finally ready to move into.

I have quite a lot of horse prints and paintings around the house:

I love this Lydia Kiernan print

I have a whole series of Edwin Straker Racehorse prints including this one (sorry about the reflection)

Alastair Banks is another favourite, he did quite a few Lloyds Bank Horse images, the last one is from a photo of my son which was then put onto tiles

oooh I've got loads! They will probably all come out huge because photos do when I upload them here. This is by Nicky Litchfield and is my gorgeous boy. I've got a sculpture of him tooIMG_20220727_151200070_MP.jpgIMG_20220727_151213337_MP.jpgIMG_20220727_151031851.jpgIMG_20220727_151017435_HDR.jpgIMG_20220727_151017435_HDR.jpgIMG_20220727_151031851.jpgThis is a little one made out of play dough / plasticine type material. The lady who did this has stopped doing them sadly because its great. The Appy from a headshot is by Chloe Brown (her stuff is stunning). The wild horse is a v expensive impulse buy from years ago that I adore. The two watercolours are by my MiL

I love the cowboy paintings and Daniel Crane is a fabulous artist. Some other brilliant ones as well. I have paintings of 4 of my ponies/horses, the first one was something my mother had done for me as a birthday present and then I saved prize money up for the others.
