My SIL (kind of) is living in Liverpool and has just left her job in childcare and is wanting a change in job scenery. She has come down for the weekend and is helping us (as we are totally short staffed) during the daytimes and is LOVING it. She says she hasntsmiled so much in months which got us onto thinking about horsey jobs for her. She is a competant rider and very hands on and capable on the yard. So, is there anyone who knows of anything within commuting distance of the city that she could get into?

Within the city is Croxteth Park Riding Centre, I did my apprenticeship there and I highly recommend it (albeit 10 years ago!).

Outside the city there are hundreds of yards, ones I have worked at and enjoyed it are Croft (near warrington) and Carrington (near manchester), although I suppose it always depends on the other yard staff. Croxteth is purely a riding school and pony club centre, the other 2 both do livery and comps etc.

Not sure if any of them are taking on staff. Good luck to your (kind of!) SIL :D

Wirral riding centre had a post on their Facebook page a couple of days ago looking for someone to help in the evenings, is in Neston on the Wirral so just over the water. There seemed a few people interested so may have been filled. Good luck!

New house farm livery in daresbury are looking for a reliable groom part time 4hrs sat and Sunday. It's about 20 mins from Lpool.

Oh and there is a rda centre in calderstones which is always looking for volunteers - not paid of course but could be a good stepping stone - its right in south liverpool- pm me if she would like details - Im pretty local!
