How bad do I feel?

I've been dog sitting our friends Munsterlander while they had a nice Easter break. He's great fun, but pretty hyper and needs lots of exercise, that's OK though as we have a Cocker so it's like the little and large show when I go running with my two spotty dogs.

Anyway I'd agreed to return him on my way to work this morning so took them for my usual morning run round the fields first thing. It wasn't until I got them home that I noticed the huge flap of skin hanging off the top of Billys leg:( It was a big triangle and you could see blood vessels and muscle but luckily nothing appeared torn other than the skin.

Cleaned and dressed the wound and returned him to his owners apologising profusely, they were very good and said that's just typical for him and they'd take him to be stitched up. But have just had a phone call to see if he's had his breakfast as he needs a general anaesthetic!!. So please some healing vibes for Billy, I know he'll be OK, just wish he hadn't done it an hour before going home.......

Oh no! How typical. I was hamstersitting once and the bugger died the day I was due to hand it back  :o

Poor billy, hope hes on the mend soon!

My friend was horse-sitting and he managed to do both hind suspensories in the field - luckily it was the day after his owners got back!!

I hope he's ok though, and try not to be too hard on yourself.....

Thanks guys, sounds like looking after other peoples pets is a hazardous past time.

I'm sure he will soon be up and about, he didn't even seem to notice he'd done it! And yes I do make sure he gets lots and lots and lots of exercise when he comes to stay - it's the only way I can guarantee a full nights sleep.

Good news, spoke to his owner this evening and he's all stitched up and being spoilt rotten. Needed internal stiches and he's on antibi's but should make a full recovery!!

I think to make it worse they bought us beer and a lovely coffee and walnut cake to say thankyou for looking after him.
