How big/tall are you on your 14.2's?

Im 5ft5 and have just sold my little highland as unfortunately she didn’t grow past 13hh which although she actually did take up my leg, was too small for me to feel comfy jumping really. I now have a ‘big’ horse... of just under 14.2hh. A number of years ago I had a 14.2hh and felt as if I should somehow have a proper horse being a grown adult in my thirties, and I sold him! I wish Id not been so stupid as really I don’t need anything bigger. I was even told when I bought this lad that I should be looking for something bigger, about 15.2hh.. thankfully being a few years down the line I know better now and I’m a lot happier on a pony!

I'm about 5'6" and ride a 13.3 fjord. She's broad and I look tall on her, but not too tall as she takes my leg up well.

I'm 5'8 & ride 14.2 connies without looking too big at all!
I did look slightly large on a 13.2 though!

Im long from hip to knee but not knee to ankle & my upper body is shorter so I actually look smaller on a horse than i actually am!

I am 5ft 1'' on my 14.2/3 Welsh d x appy and I look and feel fine on him :)

I am lucky in that I look ok riding anything from 12.3hh upwards as long as it isn't too light, but I start to look lost on anything above 16hh unless it's lighter built :)

Thanks all for the lovely pictures and words of encouragement. :)

Made me feel a million times better that super pony doesn't need to go anywhere anytime soon which is amazing.

He will be fine for years! Don't feel pressed to trade up until his feet are knocking on the ponies knees!

I am 5ft8 and ride my friend's chunky 13.2hh, and my feet don't come past her barrel. She was previously ridden by a teenage boy who was 6ft with dangly feet the last time he rode her but they were both happy. My husband is 6ft2 with lanky long legs and has competed a 15.1hh cob regularly, there is a picture of them in my albums.
