Sorry i know there is a lot on the BD site and this probably gets asked a lot but how do you qualify for winter regionals at prelim, I thought I understood it but got confused about %'s. I know i need 20 points. What does it mean 66%?

You need to get a wriggle on, firstly, as the qualifying period finishes at the end of November.

So, yes, you need 20 points in total to qualify and they all need to be gained from tests where you scored over 66%.

That means you can't make up your 20 points from more tests where you scored less than 66%.

In addition, at Prelim the only tests that will count towards your qualification will be the 'qualifier' tests, these can be identified in the schedule as they will have WQ after the test number. Most places will run one qualifier and one non-qualifier test at each level. You can enter the non-qualifiers like normal, but those scores won't help you qualify.

When you get to Novice & above, then the number of points you need to qualify is split between the qualifier and non-qualifier tests which makes it a bit easier to qualify in a fewer number of shows (assuming you hit the required %).

Hope that helps? :)

Good luck :D If you don't manage it in time, at least you've got plenty of time to plan your campaign to qualify for the summers ;)
