This is a serious ask

Poor old Thomas is 30 now and although still going strong, I realise I will have to have him pts one day

He is fairly headshy and sometimes nervy..I dont want things to go wrong when the day comes.

I dont want injections because I want to give him to the hunt , or better still, donate him to somewhere like howletts Zoo.

So, has anyone else come across this issue and what did you do about it??

i wouldnt worry too much if i were you, slaughtermen do that job all day every day, im sure they must get a few headshy ones every now + then, they r normally so quick the horse knows nothing about it!

I would imagine that it would be enough to shoot him once

Why?

Better to address the issue now than have to think of something on the day.

i dont think my horse is going to live forever, however when the time comes, i will apply for permission to bury him or if that is not possible i will have him cremated and his ashes put into a casket to take pride of place on my mantle piece

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm planning on doing this too..but maybe i'm just a bit soft..
