How do you wash a white wool numnah?

I have a gorgeous white half wool Nuumed numnah but when I washed it for the first time on 30 with Woolite, none of the dirty marks came out. I am worried that if i wash it hotter or with stronger detergent, it will damage the wool. What do you do? Thanks

I wash my white Nuumed with woolite and a scoop of vanish, at 40degrees. That sorts most stains.

Use the NuuMed wash solution, available from Saddlerys, only need a tiny amount and do on a 40deg delicates cycle. Works for me and the NuuMed is designed for wool numnahs, is soap based and does the trick.!!

As others have said - Vanish is good. Otherwise, I've had success with adding vinegar to a hot bath with it in.
