How far away are your horses from where you live?

They used to be at the bottom of my garden (110 ft from my back door)
Then I moved and they were 1 1/2 miles away.
Now they are 6 1/2 miles away and I get there by car.
The furthest iv ever been is 12 miles.

Mine are a 5 minute car journey or a 20 minute walk but as the crow flies, they are half a mile from my house. There is a mainline railway line between hence the detour.

Mine are in my garden now but when I was on livery they were two bus rides away with a mile walk at each end

Mine are 15mins away about 8 miles im in the country yes lots fields but always full of sheep! On a lovly yard me & another lady a couple across the road with horses too i love it & a great price :-) xx

About 12-15 miles depending on route - needs a car, m25 on a push bike would not be good

Furthest I've done without owning a car was about 3 miles and I used to cycle there twice a day.

but you coped doing that?

It was hard work but the horse was my responsibility so I had to. I used to leave the house at 6:30 in the morning, go to the yard and feed then turn out, then get the bus (fortunately only one) to work. Then in the evening I would muck out, ride and go home. Usually getting home at about 9pm. It was hard work but I had no choice.

At the moment about 20 minutes by car but she is on full livery. Previously when on DIY about 10/15 minutes by car. Have also had them a half an hour walk from home before

the one of mine that I deal with on a regular basis is 14 miles away-24 minutes on the way there, 1.5hrs back (rush hour :() he's on part livery, so I only see him for riding, vet/Physio or cuddling.

The other is 60 miles away-but he's on loan to a girl who adores him, so I rarely visit!

One of mine is 30 mins away and on part livery and the other is another 20 mins from first one and is on grass retirement livery. Journey back from second is another half an hour too! Couldn't compromise and have rubbish turnout and as I live near london this was the best all round solution! What is great facilities for tr working one is rubbish for the retiree and vice versa! Catch up on radio on the road!

Mine is 12 miles and 30 mins from home, 18 miles and 45 mins from work. On assisted livery so only see once a day but the drive from work is a killer. No choice as I live in middle of a very built up area.

Mine are 15 km from home and 20 km from work. This is the furthest they have ever been, but given I live in the middle of a city its pretty good. Travel time depends on traffic and I go every day, but only once a day during the week. They live out 24/7.

3.5 miles away the other side of town at own yard, car to get there & back. No public transport within a mile & half of yard.

Takes 7 mins at 6 in the morning, anything up to half hour+ in rush hour etc (so any time from 7am to 7pm)
Work is 6 miles the other way.

I'm about 7-8 miles away on windy country roads so it takes about 20 mins to drive.

When I lived at home in Manchester I used to get two buses and walk across the university football fields to get to the yard. Was tough - but I was studying and could only work part-time so didn't have enough for a car and horse! It's doable but is hard work. Luckily I had an arrangement with the lady who owned the farm...she did mine in the morning in return to me sorting her 5 shetlands in the evening so I only had to go once a day.
