thanks

For local competitions I usually go an hour or 2 and for BE event 3 is close and upto 8 is normal - yes I'm mad (and live in the wrong place!)

BSJA and dr upto 3 hrs, BE where ever in the country, over 4hrs has extra thought!!
But i travel 2 1/2 hours for lessons so I'm abit crazy and although there is alot of stuff local to here most venues are a bit rubbish tbh.

I am quite luckly,, I am based in the south and have about 5 or 6 BE events no more the 1 and a half/ 2 hours way, the nearest xc is 20 minutes away and the nearest (good) sj and dr is 10 mins

Normally an hour and a half/2 hrs max, unless it is for something special. Oxfordshire. I have Addington, Hunters, Abbey, Patchetts, Moulton, Sparsholt, Berkshire, and a few others all within 2 hrs drive, which is rather nice!

We normally look at about a two hour drive radius. It always seems a bit mad to drive for two hours do a 4 and half minute dressage then drive back again. I know there's always the hour plus warm up as well and actually if you are jumping the actual competing time is pretty short. I think everyone thinks that there is nothing on in their own area. I keep thinking how much there appears to be going on in Gloucestershire/ Forest of Dean!

your telling me

mum hates travelling so an hour/hour and a half at a push is probs the max shed go, unless it was a qualifier or something

QR -

I am lucky in the respect that I live 30 mins from a show centre that hold DR and SJ unaff series , unaff ODE and HT and unaff and aff showing ..

I also only live 45mins from Wales and West which holds everything you can think of all year round and ofcourse I can travel an hour/hour and a half over the bridge and you have The Hand , Summerhouse etc

Generally for an unaffiliated / RC event I would travel up to an hour and a half, if its RC qualifiers or something then I have gone up to 2 1/2 hours. If its BSJA then the most Ive gone is 2 hours, if its BE then I generally travel up to 3 1/2 hours away. I am always more willing to travel for BE than BSJA lets say. The longest journey's have been down to the RC Champs @ Lincoln and Warwickshire which took us 10 hours... we did that 3 times. Never again - TOO FAR!

Local comps - up to an hour (as have to rely on transport - not allowed to drive truck and trailer myself) BE will go further, about an hour and a half.

Will be going further once I am equipped with truck.

I'd go up to an hour for BSJA/dressage and up to 2 hours for an event. If I had a lorry, I'd probably go further afield but we're lucky that there are quite a few places nearby. My friend who evented in Canada said it took her 3 days to get to her nearest ODE!!!

Local shows an hour tops, we have Hartpury, Hand, West Wilts, Wales and west all within an hour and leyland court is 15 mins away. BE try for an hour and a half which includes West wilts, Belmont, Stockland lovell, Broadway, Longleat, Dauntsey, Gatcombe, stonar, bath and west, I am spoilt really. We were planning a 3 hour trip to Milton Keynes on Saturday for a NRF (thankfully we dont have to go now!) so for me 2 hours max unless its an important competition.

im lucky for dr/sj normally something is on within 45min drive tho if its a qualifier we will travel upto 4 hours

for BE though our nearest event is still 1 30min away and we don't get to go to it as it always classes with exams and pc champs so we normally end up travelling 3-4 hours to get to a event but often go even further - were going to eglinton which is a good 5hours +

Local shows up to an hour, possibly just over. I'm lucky I guess as in that time I can get to Norton Heath, Brook Farm, Hastingwood, Towerlands, Harolds Park Farm, Bluegates, Wix and Patchetts!

Will be going to Addington for the regionals for the first time this summer which will be the furthest I have gone with my trailer!

For local/one day shows up to about 2 hours, just over an hour is usual. For 2 or 3 day 'normal' shows up to 4 hours, and even further afeild if it is a special event.

Dressage - usually about an hour or so. For BE I try to keep within 2 hrs, occasionally 2.5 hrs but finding my horse is too tired after all that travelling!

We're very as most of our BE calendar is within 2hrs of us! We'll travel up to 3hrs BE [Gt Witchingham, Burnham Market, Stratford Hills are all our furthest travels so far.]. We've travelled that far for PC area SJ, but normal competitions we have some cracking venues all within half our of us - Sissons Farm & Laughton Manor brilliant for BD / Unaff, the latter also BSJA, Arena UK. Up to an hour we've got Keysoe, Markfield, Vale View, then pushing it out to about 1 hr and a half Hargate. We're really really lucky as we have some of the most subscribed to BE events really close to us.

usually maximum 2 hours for BSJA...but dont usually go further than 1hr 20mins as i have 6 bsja centres within 1hr20mins anyway.

but for a big championchips i would go for up to 3 1/3 hrs, and for a lesson i wouldnt travel more than 1 hr xx
