AdorableAlice, if you've posted about this before, I'm sorry, I missed it. Hope you're soon in better health.
You are TRULY hard core!!
The best things about horses have nothing to do with riding anyway, at least IMO.
I am truly evil at the moment, not sure about hard core ! I have been told not to ride, even though I pleaded with them and my cob is reasonably safe. Doctor looked at me totally confuddled when i mentioned cob, as far as he is concerned a cob has ham on it !
I will be back on board by Christmas and to be fair I am now so sore that I am not comfortable even on my steady cob who does not pull. Getting off is the main problem. I am so irradiated I don't need hi viz, I glow in the dark by myself !
Spent the morning sorting the yard out and getting ready for the 'big storm' the news keeps telling us about, all horses strapped down, chickens tied to a brick each and the cat is tied to the chain harrows.
LADIES - no matter how hard core you all are and no matter how much we all joke about caring for our horses, please make sure you attend those pesky routine scans, you just never know what is around the corner. I am living proof and without that routine breast scan I would have been dead in 18 months. A sobering thought to say the least. There is nothing to the screening, a tad embarrassing maybe but all the staff are ladies. Don't ignore your call up letters.
