How long did it take you to find a livery yard?

I've been on the hunt for a livery yard for a while now and can't seem to find one that offers what I need. I'm after either DIY or part livery on a yard where hay and bedding is included or can be bought on site, with an arena, turnout and decent storage for rugs, feed ect. Am i expecting too much? I just can't seem to find one within reasonable distance of my house :(
 
I couldn't find anything remotely suitable for ages and was thinking miladdo would have to go to either very very expensive yard or one with no facilities, both choices about a 25 min drive away. Then a spot came up at a great yard, and I pounced. It's the only good one in the area and the waiting list has 6 on it. :O
 
I Waited six months went ona few waiting lists, was starting to get desperate to move when three of them came up within a week of each other, which then through me into a mad panic because I had to make a decision :rolleyes:
 
Viewed Boyo and put deposit down on wednesday. Viewed two yards thursday and provisionally got a place, paid for ponio and he moved in 4pm on the friday. Yard is 20 mins walk from home :)
 
I've been looking for over a year :eek:
Fortunately millie is happy where she is now but it's a 40 mile round trip for me.Finally found a new yard which ticks all the boxes for us both so will be moving in a couple of weeks. I hate moving so was prepared to spend a long time to find the right place :)

You're so lucky! None of the yards near me that have arenas have space or are a 45 min drive which I'm not prepared to do twice a day!
 
I was really lucky. Went to view my first pick in advance of buying a new horse at the end of summer as they usually have a really long waiting list. Loved it and put my name on the list immediately and we move in on September 6th :D
