How long does it take to do a full clip

Ummm, far too long to admit to

I blame the perfectionist in me

And the fact my horse grows a coat like a yak

Hi, depends on the horse really, with my welshie I take my time and it takes around an hour, my cob has to have sedalin as she is nasty - not scared just nasty about being clipped so I have to get legs clipped and everything in about 45 mins!! I have 2 sets of clippers on stanby for her, when one set heats up I have to change sets and a helper cleans and oils the last set - what a palaver!!

QR- My horse get sedated but you only get half an hour before he starts to wake up an twitch ( hes super tickly ). So full clip can take me and a friend half an hour.

took me an hour this morning - that was leaving legs and saddle patch - also doing half head. That time included setting up and changing blades as ones on the clippers were blunt.
I am a perfectionist though and i have been known to take about 1.5 hrs

Flipping heck! With Harmony Liveryman clippers it takes me an hour to do an Irish clip!!!!!! Mind you, that includes shaving hearts on ned's bum so maybe that explains it......................

Depends on thickness of coat, size of horse, and how well the horse stands.

It takes me 45 mins to do a chase clip on a large 16.3 hairy. Including a blade change as he is that hairy.

40 minutes for a neat job (full face off and patch left under saddle).

Bit longer if I have to use little trimmers to do the head on a spooky horse.

Cripes, Everyone above - wonder what make your clippers are?

I have a 15.1 Show cob and she has everything off - bar her tail. That means legs and head and hogged mane.

She stands perfectly and is a real sweetheart.

It takes my hubby (bless him) about 2.5 hours - with an hour of that for her legs.

But saying that - the job he does is sooooo good - there is not one tram line, or one bit of hair missed and she looks like velvet when he is finished - ready to go straight into the show ring.

(Also bare in mind she gets done all year round as well)

Maybe I should crack the whip a bit harder and tell him to get a move on

I have just done a chaser clip which took me 2 hrs one day and about the same the next!!!

I am a total perfectionist and I am also fairly new (and rubbish) at clipping!

about 45 mins, but i'm obviously a slowcoach! more like an hour if it's a dancey-about one. much longer if i'm trying to do a blanket clip (my favourite) as i'm utterly rubbish at getting the lines perfect, and won't stop until they are!
