how long should a bridle last?

As per title, how long would you expect a cheaper premium brand bridle to last with daily use? I have a good one that came with my horse, it's at least 5 years old and showing wear around the noseband buckles where the leather layers have separated. A replacement bridle would cost £68, so it's not a REALLY expensive one.
However I think that 5 years isn't very long really? What do other people think? I am thinking about just replacing the noseband - due to where the wear is I don't think it can be fixed without a lot of hassle. Or should I just put a new one on my xmas list?
 
It depends on how good the quality is & how well its been cared for. My sabre bridle must be at least 15yrs old & been used heavily & still more than nice enough to compete or show in. And I have an English leather bridle that I bought from a local saddler 20yrs ago, been used on countless project ponies as well as on mine for its first few years, & now a lunge bridle. Close up I wouldn't call it smart but it looks better than a lot of cheaper bridles that are a quarter of its age.
 
Don't know but I haven't bought a new bridle for probably 7 or 8 years and don't forsee me buying another anytime soon.

I do have a bridle that is about 160 years old, has been well used and is still in a perfect state of repair.
 
Although they can last a long time I think with daily use 5 years is a decent amount of time for a cheaper bridle, it doesn't owe you anything :)

I agree, i've had my Elevator for about 5 years and used eveyday, it looks a little tired, but cleans up well. I think it has done well, although it wasn't cheap really.
 
we brought a mark todd, £120, bridle for the appy. it has the white stitching on it as it would suit him and it was mums treat;):D at the smae time brought a £80ish kiefer for my mare. that was about 5ish years ago, the mark todd has had to be repaired three times, he will be getting a new one by the end of the year, and the kiefer one still looks brand new.

so price dosent matter, its quilty of leather.
