A friend of a friend found a parson russell terrier last Monday ie a week ago. She has advertised everywhere but has had no response and vet scanned but no microchip. He is a real handsome wee dog (well I've only seen pics) and vets estimate about 2-3 years old. The day he was found was a bank holiday here and this is a real holiday spot and loads of daytrippers were around so there is a realistic chance he was dumped. Now person who found him and is currently minding him cannot keep him as she has loads of dogs and is tight on space. How long realistically do you think before he could be rehomed given that she has advertised not just locally but in a few national papers too and there has been no response. The reason we ask is that I am interested in meeting him to consider offering him a home but don't want to confuse the poor wee dog by rehoming him and then an owner turning up. Current minder can give him another week but will really have to consider the pound after that as she is stretched to the limit with her current animals. So any thoughts as to how long before she could consider handing him over to a home or would she be better to just go to the pound and not get involved in homing him (to me or anyone else!)
