and wondered if anyone else had a neddie the same, My big mare wont pee in her stable, you open the door and she takes herself off to the muck heap, twirls round, wee wee's and goes back in!! I'm the envy of my friends!! surely I'm not alone??

! Haha that is so cool, i couldnt do that with my boy the muckheap is lika a mile away from the yard, he would be distracted by the grass on the way down

!! You are very lucky, my friends horse used to position itself over its feed bucket and pee in it - we werent so jelous thou emptying that in the morning was disgusting, it stank!!

Funny I wa just thinking along similar lines whilst mucking out this morning!!

A couple of mine will only poo in one place in their stable so I end up with a poo mountain in one area and a clean bed! Another mare waits to be turned out before she will wee (most of the time) and always empties herself when she sees me coming to bring them in.

Never really thought anything of it till i went to see a friend yesterday and helped her muck out hers, both mash everything into thier beds (yuck) Think I'll stick to mine!!

Haha! Well I dont have stables .. But when im out on a ride and my mare needs a wee she wont go .. She will hold it the whole ride until she gets in the gate of the field and then she'l go! Even if we have been riding through fields she wont bother going. Or she'll wait to be let back in her field with the other horses and she'l go then lol xx

Oh I wish. I'm lucky with my horse that she does all of her poos on the rubber so they are quick to pick up, but she waits to come in before having a wee!

my old pony used to poo in one place on his back bank so dug a hole and put big rubber bucket in it was fabulouse in the morning shame he didnt wee in it but how much can i ask for sory to say old him now got a mesy boy

I'm trying to read this through the eyes of a non-horsey person and finding it quite hilarious... isn't it sad how obsessed we are with our horses' toileting habits?

To weigh in, the three messiest horses I have to deal with are all TBs - a coincidence, or not? One is an unbelievable poo machine, the other always has a soaking wet bed, and the third likes to poo in interesting places like his water bucket, and the ledge around the wall.

Mucking him out is never boring, I'll say that for him!
