Currently 9, owned between 6 of us. There is stabling for 13 but for some reason the yard is never full- I think its because we dont have a school of our own despite being the best yard I have ever liveried on!

That said mind, it is a bit lonely. One new livery is coming Sat which will be nice, I've been with them on a previous yard(s) and they are fab people.

5 owners and 1 partner. Between us we have 9 horses. Shiny-ish and I share an enclosed area of the yard though so is like having our own yard with nice neighbours. I like it.

Is that one huge yard, or split into several sections?

Friends had a yard in Middlesex where there were heaps of horses too, but there were yards within yards, some in the original stables, some in barns etc.

I did a quick head count, currently I have 6, no, 9 of my own, (how did I forget 3 horses?) 20 liveries (6 of which I bred and sold and are still here ) and 9 owners, so a small yard. Somedays, especially in the week, only one or two come down and often not at the same time. Usually it is very quiet, everyone is lovely and because it is small there are no yard politics here.

It is only busy at the weekend when there is a bit of a log jam in the parking lot if everyone comes at once - and they all have trucks too - summer evenings are often great fun, people tend to sit out in the chairs behind the barn and just natter, or we have an impromptu BBQ, or call for pizza.

we have 10 horses and 6 owners including me and my 2. However one of the owners is my old boss who has 2 on grass livery that i care for so we only see her now and then. It's perfect especially as i have my own little stabe block

We have about 26 horses on our yard when it is full, it is currently full for the first time since we moved there.

Of the 26 I think 8 are school horses, two are the YO's daughters and are on working livery, then there are about another three working liveries.

All of the livery owners only have on horse on the yard, but a couple of the horses are family horses so they are regularly ridden/cared for by more than one person.

It's lovely to have company of an evening and friends to help with horsey (and vice versa).

Haven't counted, but about 20 horses. 9 in the barn where I help the rest in another covered barn. Always pretty quiet in the week, most of the people own more than one so there is a lot more horses than people (which is always good! ).

Why ever not? Bad paddock planning, that's all.

I have one band of 15 horses on 8 acres, they all fit on it perfectly well without kicking each others' teeth in.

Several in less than 1 acre paddocks.

They can all have a hooley, nothing gets bullied, they are happy...so what if I have to feed hay most of the time, that's no big deal, I'd rather feed up than down.

Just me and 3 horses. (One is not mine - I look after him). Have 4 boxes, and about 100 acres shared with the cattle! Good hacking but no arena.

About 30 horses, does fluctuate as we sometimes have 'emergency' grazers! 5 belong to YO and quite a few are retired. There's about 12 of us who have riding horses and most of us help each other out, so it's a friendly place to be.
