ok i am going to look at another horse on sunday, this will be number 5. 3 of them are ponies that the kids use, but of course i do the work come school time, i am always being told that i have too many, i personnal dont feel that i do.
so my questionare as follows

how many do you have

would you like more

do you have children

do you work

do you find it easy to fit it all in

I have 2 horses. One is my daughter's pony and the other is a horse she and I share.

2 is enough for me as I have to do them before work every morning and I only have a 25 min slot to do that. Then in the evening we do them together.

If you can cope with 5 then that is up to you and it's not for anyone to say you have too many. If you want another then go for it.

how many do you have 2 (well Badger is ridden by my Mum as well)

would you like more Yes, a few more Bodey cob's would be nice.

do you have children No, don't want any.

do you work Yes, full time, but work where the horses are, my Parent's.

do you find it easy to fit it all in Yes, easier in Summer then Winter though having light nights.

I have two. As my life is at the moment I don't really have the time or money for any more, but if I did then I would love another one!

I don't have children. I work full time. I find it fairly easy to fit in looking after my horses as everything else revolves around them

One Husband
One daughter
and
6 horses
Two mares in foal,
one youngster (2)
One OAP (24)
one riding horse
and
KWPN stallion (4).
Do not find it easy to juggle everything but it sort of works.

i have 4 although one is out on loan
Yeah 1 more because don't have one thats in full ridden work so need to replace one that out on loan

No children (only 19)
Don't work just finished college
Find it easy to fit all in as mum looks after them when i am at coll or work she comes down with me everyday but doesn't ride

2 - one is mine. One is my Mum's.

I would like more if I had the money, space, and didn't work full time.

I don't have children & I work full time.

One horse is more than enough for me. I don't have as much time for him as I would like, and when Mum is away, it takes every spare minute to do the basics for 2 of them - feed, poo pick, fly spray, hoof moist etc. Ours are on our own land, so land maintenance also takes time. No problem with how many horses others have - provided they are well cared for you should have as many as you like!

i have 3,my 16.1 mare, daughters 15hh mare and a yearling miniature mare.this is more than enough for me in terms of time, money and energy.i work 9-3 as a nurse but commute an hour to work and even though they are kept at home i never have a minute.

how many do you have One

would you like more Red

do you have children Nope

do you work Yes

do you find it easy to fit it all in Yes, one or two horses no problem. Any more would be too tying.

how many do you have - 3 competition horses, 1 youngster

would you like more - no

do you have children - no

do you work - no, but i am at school

do you find it easy to fit it all in - not during the winter, but a mother and a walker are a great help.

how many do you have?
I have 1 horse now, most we ever had on our small holding at one time was 9 horses

would you like more?
Yes if i had my own land and more money

do you have children?
No

do you work?
Yes full time, plus i study at night school

do you find it easy to fit it all in?
No, not really, but i manage, some days flow better than others in terms of getting things done

I have 5 ponies between 7.3hh-14.2hh. More would be nice but I cannot afford more. If I stick with these I know I can pay for all their needs without worrying about money. I have no children...Ponies are way better imo! I work from home and it is very flexible hours which is very good cos I can fit the ponies in around it. If I had a 9-5 job I would struggle to get everything done, especially in winter when there isn't much daylight.

I have one horse, a 4 year old child about to start school and I work 22.5 hours a week. Alongside looking after the domestic things/garden/dogs/company secretary role, I also help with renovating our house to sell. If I could magic up another 23 hours in the day, Id have a cob to show at county level and possibly a youngster to bring on with the aim of affiliated sj. But as there are only 24 hours in a day ad I need to sleep for 6 or 7 of those I shall stick to Miss dream horse who turns her hoof to most things for now

I have 3, although one is semi retired - but I spend more time on and with her than the other 2.

I work full time and I am on a DIY yard.

No kids, apart from the husband.

I sometimes struggle to keep some time "horse free" as I really do not like anyone else "doing" them.

Would love another one - but would be very specific

I know exactly where you're coming from

I have two - my horse and a companion pony (for my 2yr old son to ride)
I also run a business and look after the house/dogs/farm - long hours and never a moment - it's organised chaos!

We've got 3 spare stables and I do think they won't stay empty forever!

I have 2 mum and foal!! Mum is my long term one in a million horse and foal will hopefully be my future competition horse. I've been umming and arring about getting a pony for my 3 year old boys and putting it in my parents field!! But think I maybe taking on too much by doing that as I also work full time! And boys only go there every second weekend! So may hold off for now as they seem more than happy sitting on my mares back and having walks in the field! If you can cope with time and finances, what does it matter what people think??????

I don't have any at the moment but I can't wait to get my first one which I have been told will probably be next year. *holding OH to this*

I also would love a shetland to keep the horse company. I work full time and I intend to have the horse either on DIY or Grass livery. If I can afford it I would ideally like assisted DIY or part livery.

Up until a few weeks ago I had 3. Now I have 2. I work full time, I commute too to be added into the bargin! I am on DIY livery, I do not have children but I do basically run the house look after the other animals as other half works long and varied hours so can't really contribute. Now I've had3 I wouldn't baulk at it again but I must say that only 2 of the 3 needed exercising, I couldn't do it if all of them were in work.

No its not easy to fit in, but once you're in a routine that just how it is so you don't question it.

PS - If you ask anyone that has known me for years they will tell you that I only ever wanted one at a time but there you are, life changes and you just adapt!

ill answer it from my dads (owner) point of view:

how many do you have: 5

would you like more: no

do you have children: yes, 2- 15 y/o and 18 y/o

do you work: yes, everyday in london (live in gloucestershire)

do you find it easy to fit it all in: no, my daughter does them in the holidays and wife in the winter (although this has now changed as 3 polo ponies going to winter grounds, 1 eventer on full livery at another yard and other horse going back to his sister)

how many do you have 3 of my own, um, 6 vacation boarders at the minute

would you like more NO thankyou.

do you have children yes

do you work Estate and Hotel manager, in other words No, just a normal stay at home Mom
smile.gif

do you find it easy to fit it all in If I drank less coffee thus stayed off the pc more I would
wink.gif

I only have one at the moment, and TBH I wouldn't like more! One's enough for the moment
grin.gif

I don't have children, but I am a student. It can be quite tough fitting everything in during the school term, but once I'm on holidays it's fine
smile.gif

I have 2, 1 is out on loan, I work fulltime, have 2 children of 10 & 4 ands a hubby woho works awful shifts, so everything sort of works round him. Horse is on DIY livery, I dont like taking the chldren to the yaqrd, and certainly wouldn't ride unless OH was with kids etc so it can all be a challenge with working, collecting kids from childcare, getting home to let the dogs out, go to the yard etc - but at one point I did have 3, and for some reason it seemed easier... maybe because youngest was in a carseat, stayed where you plonked him and couldnt yet talk :-) I would have another when both children were older... but dont tell my OH

how many do you have 2, a pony I no longer ride and my unregistered Welsh Cob.

would you like more Yes, either a yearling traditional or Highland or a county standard Highland or show cob, unfortunately I don't have the time at the moment.

do you have children No, don't want any.

do you work Yes, full time.

do you find it easy to fit it all in no, I could do with two more hours in every day

How do you remember all their names? I struggle with one.
smile.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

I struggle sometimes!!
grin.gif
There are a few I ALWAYS mix up - Sweet Magic and Deep Secret are two. In my defence, they are very linked in my mind because Deep Secret is a full sister to Sweet Magic's mum. And of course I'm old and senile too!
grin.gif

But as I named most of them - and the names all MEAN something - that makes it easier!
