With more than one horse! i stay at the farm for ages at night finish work at 5ish and am at the farm by half five! I could stay there till later than 8 sometimes doing and riding just one horse! How do people manage with more than one to do! Id love to get another one but id be at the farm till midnight lol!

one at home that i ride for someone, she gets worked during the week when i am at college, and if i am home the weekend she is turned out in the morning, i go up about 9am bring her in, feed and groom, ride then maybe practice jumps and shes turned out and the YO brings her and the other liveries in, in the evenings to be stabled overnight!

i have always had atleast 2, no idea how i manage really lol

although i am lucky that i dont work so everything gets done during the day

Well I have three, but they are kept at home, and I work part-time from home, so it's not really a huge problem for me! (Plus one is retired and one is my daughters, so only have to ride one!)

Two 13.2's, a 15.1 and a 12 hander - Kids do theirs, I do mine and we all do Polly. They are kept at home BUT there are still not enough hours in the day! Organisation is the key - sadly, I haven't got much......................

OH pays 'handsomly' for the privilege of all these equine dependents in return for a messy house and smelly family - who are mostly away at Pony Club and shows.

I used to have two, and didn't find it that much different from when I just had the one. However, Freddy wasn't ridden. I did used to get up around half an hour earlier in the mornings to muck both out - but didn't particulary get home any later.

Luckily I finish work at 4.00 - so was on the yard by 4.30.

I have two and have really struggled this winter, so have put one on winter loan to a friend (I'm full time education) but can still ride both on days off if I want. This has worked quite well.

I have 2 at livery and I work 9-5 every day about 20mins away from home. They are both kept event PN level fit at the mo

The yard is opposite my house so dont have to travel far really.

I put them both out before work - then go home get showered wash hair for work.
My mum then goes over after she has dropped my brother off at school and mucks out (they are on rubber matting so only takes half hr) Then I go down at 5.45 ish and ride them both - usually schooling after work and I have 2 jump lessons every weds and I fitten and compete at the weekend! Very tiring!

I have 1 and my sister has 1. We help each other muck out and poo pick etc, but we both groom and work our own. We look after our friends 2 horses but they live out so we just make sure they have water and feed them twice a day.

i've got 4 at the moment, 2 colured cobs, a blue roan 2/12year old and a 6month old coloured colt foal. i do mine on my own but same as hoo_ya i'm lucky enough not to work so i see to the horses and the dogs etc while other half works during week, then at weekend he helps out and rides too etc.
some days i could be up there all day but if i need to go somewhere i can be "chucked ot and mucked out" lol in about an hour inc rugs off and on and hayed up etc ready for bringing in. i've had people in past say it takes them as long to muck out just one horse as it did me to ride one for half haour and come back and muck out etc and i couldn't have been doing it properly, its not that its just years of practice, lol, i couldn't get a couple of kids up and ready for school like mums can lol. you just make the time from somewhere when needed

Well we have 3 between us (me and GinaGem), we kind of just muck in and Mum helps by mucking out when she is in this country. We keep them at the parents home, but I usually Gina puts them out in the morning, I get down after work about 5pm and then we are finished around 7pm. It can get hard when the weather is bad with the mud and everything but we cope. I think we will always have 3 now, but we don’t have room for anymore then 3.

I have 2, I spend about an hour mucking them out in the morning before work, I have it down to a fine art and actually run from stable to stable to muck heap to barn etc (thank god I'm the only nutter down so early!!) Then after work arrive at about 5 muck out again, usually do something with both, school one, ride the other one around the farm in the dark, get home around half 8 eat and in bed for 10, roll on spring, will be great when I only have to do the beds once.

I have four but only one is in work and this year we have had two out all the time so that's only two stables to do! I am looking at getting another one, and the mare will be coming into work soon I hope so that will mean three to work - I'm beginning to wonder if it might all be a bit much!

Have four, but one is retired, all at livery about 30 mins away from home, work 8-4.15pm 5 days week, so horses get turned out for me, but then I do everything after work, on rubber matting so not too bad, all three get worked at least three if not four times in the week, just lunging or schooling, but then weekends hack and compete...... Keeps me fit and off the streets, get home around 8.30pm.....

I have two, one of which I ride every day and the other one is in foal at the moment. When they are both being worked though I will ride one in the morning and one at night.

I get up to the yard at 7.30am, muck out, fill all haynets for the day, do feeds for tonight and tomorrow morning and turn Hannah out and bring her in once I have finished, and leave at 9am.

At night I am there longer because I ride.

Have 5 at the moment. Trixie ive had for 8 years, little exmoor and she lives out 24/7. Shadow, had for 6 years, 13.2hh mongrel who lives out 24/7. Boo ive had for 4 years, Welshy x NF, is in 24/7 due to lameness and so cant be ridden. Joey shetland, had him for 2 years and he also lives out 24/7. And Rocco, my sisters tb who just came back from being on loan and has now been turned away for a few months.

Also look after 3 other horses, and excercise 2 of these. Though only one comes in, and thats only at night in the winter as hes a 37yr old Arab.

Basically only have 2 to ride at the moment and theyre not mine.

We have 3. I muck all 3 out Sun - Wed. Thurs & Fri Mum & Gus's sharer do them & on Sat we do one each.

Horses are at home and I am lucky to live 5 mins away from my work, so out at horses by 6.15 in at 7.15 work by 8.30 home by 5.45 and finish them for the night get back into the house at about 8pm ish.

ETS: Thank God for Mum's!

I have six - two retired, one of which is daughters old sec. A who lives out, other retired cos of dikky heart - lives in. Two youngsters waiting to be be broken - both live out and two in active service kept inside.
I work long hours in city law firm but 13 year old daughter does all 3 stabled ones (2 are hers so it's only fair!)Mon-Fri - kids do have their uses sometimes!

I only have one and he lives in a rented field 2 mins from my house. I also work most of the week from home so that really helps, although I am self employed and work is getting so full on at the moment I am struggling to ride!!!!! The hardest thing for me is having no water or elec so I have to do everything with lanterns and head torches in the dark in winter and lug heavy containers of water round all summer!
I also have to soak his hay, so I do that at home and lug that over every day in winter too...oh well...can't have it all! Roll on spring!

I've got 5 at the mo, 3 are out 24/7 while 2 are in 24/7 with this wet. The 2 in have a huge area though (barn and yard) to walk around. So they are deep littered and i only poo pick them. Then they have ad lib hay and feeds. 2 of the ones outside are in-foal so they are feed twice a day, and the other just gets a bit of hay everyday. The 2 in are ridden everyday and out is driven about 3/4 times a week.

Oh and i've got 2 grass liveries which i look after- check and hay twice a day.

But i am at college so i only have to go in for about 6 hours a week and then i work at a primary school for 6 hours a week.

We are back down to one horse, we peaked at 4 and my poor mum who works nights looked after 2 of them and sister and i had the other 2 at boarding school with us!
Now at uni mum looks after Honey whilst i'm away and then i come home and lok after her.

We currently have 6 in total. My eventer, my sister's pony and my mum's pony are in proper work, then we have a baby haflinger, a retired NF and my other horse who is in light work. They all live out 24/7 so some days I wuss out and just feed them all (still takes over an hour though

) but generally we bring 4 in and ride them. Our biggest problem is that the field is 15/20mins from the yard so we waste a lot of time just walking them up and down.

4, but only 2 are in work. Up the yard for 5.15/20 feed, & hay, muck out. If Tamara rides (depends on weather) then I muck out 3 stables, otherwise it is 2 a piece. They are then turned out, hay topped up & fresh water put in. Get home about 7-7.15. Tamara will then go up after school put the beds down then get them in, pick their feet out, ride, & feed. Weekends are much the same, though if I am not working OT scanning, then we get up a bit later. I work weekends selling new homes, but don't start there until 10am.

I have 2 at the mo- a 11yr old ISH mare who has hunted all winter and usually jumps all summer tho this year she is off to stud and a 6 yr old event pony that is also in full time work. Both are kept at full livery because i dont have the time to take care of them because i work 1 1/2 hours away from home and the commute is a killer!!So icant really say how i cope i pitch in at the weekends with mucking out etc but its just not viable for me to do it all the time- i need to find a rich man and give up working!! I feel really ashamed of myself because everyone here is so devoted to their horses and do everything for them im useless!!

how i cope, I have no idea! We have my 4yr old and my sisters 20yr old. We rent a yard about 4 miles away and there is only us there so we are DIY. Muck out and turn them out at half 5, go straight to work, go and ride and put them to bed straight after work, get home about 7. I work 38 hours a week and do a part time biology degree so have coursework to fit in somewhere, so basically I have very little time to myself, but I wouldn't change it, well maybe the half 5 starts, but they're worth it

I have four, although it's not quite as bad as it sounds as one is on paddock rest, the other is kept just ticking over, but other other two are supposed to be in full work. (I say supposed as i've broken my collar bone!)
They're all kept at home, and although i do spend more time and money on them than i can probably afford I fit them in around my equine science degree.
Bliss compared with last winter though, when I had 6 of them, all in full work, based at three different yards. Nightmare!!

We have 3, 1 baby and 2 in work. Baby is out 24/7 at a friends, and the other 2 are in at night.
How do we cope? - I don't think we ever do really.
I know what you mean RobinHood, we have the same problem, field is quite a distance from the yard and you feel all you ever do is walk up and down.
