Mine have the choice 24/7 they can go in their stables, on the yard, in the sand paddock or in the field and going off the amount of droppings they spend pretty equal amounts of time on each area. They seem very happy and will come off the grass themselves when they've had enough.

Mine live out 24/7 all year and thats just how I (and they) like it

At the moment mine are all out, but once my tb wants to be in at night he will be out from 8ish to 6ish.

Axey lives out 24/7 in the summer, but I do sometimes bring him in in the day if it's really hot.
We are planning on leaving them out for as long as we can, but depends on how wet it gets. Will be stabled overnight from then.

in summer mine live out unless weather very bad and in winter they go out bout 930 and come in bout 3 depending on weather. both mine hate rain and stand and shiver in it so if its wet they'll stay in or just go out hours or so.
