How many of you own a body protector and when do you use it?

Yes I actually have 2 but only wear my racesafe.
I put other as I wear it for XC comps, breaking youngsters and jumping the youngsters.

Only use for jumping (which is never really now). But having read the post the other day about the age of foam & it going less abosorbant suppose i'd better consider a new one when i get a new horse.

Ermm, I wear it more on Doug than I do Oli as Doug can be very unpredictable. Wear it when I dont ride in the school

I have two. Wear one just for xc and sometimes wear the other one if I'm jumping on my own at home or on a jittery horse or just having a nervous day.

Nope but never could get them to fit. Seen some of the new generation and think they may have solved my problems with them so when I'm feeling flush I shall be invenstigating

i only wear it for jumping and hacking
but i dont wear it to hack out if its too hot
and sometimes i dont jump in it if its only piddly jumps
i will always wear it for xc though

only when backing youngsters or XC....I ought to have my wrist slapped really as I don't let my daughter ride without hers...NOT a good example for a mum to set I guess

Yes i own one, took me a little while to start to wear it, but now i never ride without,and i mean never ever without

I haven't got one, but since the only riding I do is a walk/trot in the riding school once a week I don't really think it's worth investing in one yet! I will definitely buy one when I want to start learning to jump, because knowing my awful sense of balance I'm anticipating several accidents!

I used to wear it every time I rode him but now I dont feel the need to. Will wear it when jumping which I dont do at the moment but when I do start I will be wearing it - im bound to fall off!!

always wear my rp even though it's not very comfy - dizz slipped whilst walking and it saved my ribs and back.

I always wear one for jumping and hacking and if Pharaoh has had time off then i will wear it to as he goes hyper after 2 days off!! I will also ride in it if im riding other people's horses even though they may be safe i still don't know them...
It also keeps me warm in winter

At least I'm better than everyone else on the yard who don't own any!

I want a nice new one, but the decent ones seem so expensive compared to when I bought my old one.

Yes - I only wear it when it's compulsory though (certain XC schooling venues, hunter trialling etc.)

Yes i've got one (well, two actually, but i only wear one). I've got a Racesafe RS2000, and it is very light and comfortable, so ialways wear it. I have dreadful balance and stickability and could easily fall off in walk !

I have one, I only wear it for XC - and I've had more falls because of the damned thing because they never fit me properly - too long, even with the shortest option. Hopefully when I replace mine the new generation ones will be more suitable.
