Yep, I want to hear how many rugs your beasty owns- turnout rugs, stable rugs, fleeces, coolers, under rugs, fly rugs, snuggy hoods, show rugs, THE LOT:D
 
Zero!

Hes a haflinger and doesnt need them, but I have an old lightweight from my last horse that will probably be too big but will do if desperate :O)
 
One fleece
One 200g fill stable (about 15 years old and needs replacing for this Winter)
One 100g stable

1 coolcoat for sunny days just after a full clip

1 no fill turnout
1 no fill turnout with neck
1 M/W turnout
1 M/W turnout with neck (needs a repair so not in use until I fix it)
1 H/W turnout (worn 4-5 times in about -14)


I clearly need to buy more - that's not many :eek::):D

I wouldn't mind but he's out 24/7 so doesnt need any stable rugs or fleeces :D I probably only use 3 turnouts, 1 fly rug, 1 sweat sheet and his show rug :D
 
He doesnt own any techically, but I have for him a fleece (won and saved for posh :D) and he will have a med weight turnout rug when I get around to buying one as he grew out of his a couple of years ago and I didnt replace it.
 
well I have just sold a few but need to buy some more but currently:
my thoroughbred has:
1 heavy weight turnout
1 medium weight turnout
1 50g turnout
1 lightweight turnout
2 liners (a old one which is probably about 50g now and a 100g one)
1 fly rug
1 200g combo stable rug
1 300g combo stable liner
1 150g stable rug
1 combo cooler
1 ordinary fleece
1 show sheet


My spotty botty has:
1 200g turnout combo (that is too small and I need to get a new one)
1 50g tunrout
1 250g turnout
2 lightweight turnouts
2 fly rugs (one is tatty that he ripped and too small)
1 200g combo stable
1 360g combo stable
1 100g liner
1 100g stable
1 fleece
1 sheet

Ones they share:
show fleece
3x exercise sheets

Ones that dont fit any more (but am getting a new horse which they may fit):
1 200g stable
1 200g combo liner
1 360g heavyweight turnout.
 
I think I have about 6 or 7 turnout rugs, all of which need some kind of repair - my boy managed to break various straps off. At least a couple of them are hand me downs from friends who felt sorry for me as my rugs kept getting broken - he managed to break them as well. I really need to spent a day doing some sewing.
Oh yes, I've got one of those string vest type sweat rug things as well somewhere, and possibly a fleecy stable rug underneath the webby broken ones.

Think thats it...they all get used at one point or another throughout the year
 
My Horse has:

1 x heavy weight with detachable neck
2 x med weight one full neck, one standard neck
2 x light weights

2 x light weight stable rugs
1 x heavy stable rug

5 x fleeces (I seem to collect them)

1 x cooler

1 x show sheet

My Pony has:

1 x heavy weight
2 x med weight
2 x light weight
1 x fly rug
1 x fleece
 
Too many.

Turnouts:
2x fly rugs
3x lightweight (one with neck)
3x medium (one with neck)
1x heavy with neck

Stable:
2x fleeces
1x stable/travel rug (posh one!)
1x light/med
1x med
1x light with neck

That's 15 :O I saved them all after I sold my last pony, so that used to be for two ponies :)
 
Our three only have the following:

1 x rainsheet for spring/autumn
1 x 200 grm turnout with neck cover for winter
1 x cooler fleece for travel or as an under rug for when it is very cold.

I don't use stable rugs as find keeping their turnout rugs on is a far easier way of drying them.

Simples!!
 
Exclusively for one horse? None.

I have about 30 MW turnouts in various stages of disrepair, in sizes from 50" to 81", they go on whatever horse they fit that needs one at the time.

There are a couple of blankets and a couple of cotton sheets knocking about somewhere too, they don't belong to any specific horse.

Twice a year I go to the Tent Sale at the local saddlery and buy a few rugs in sizes I need, or don't have, and chuck out a few dead ones. Usually lurid colours, but for $50 each rather than RRP of $200+ who cares? ;)
 
Well i must admit i do have a bit of OCD when it comes to rugs, but my horse has worn them all at some point so my argument is that she really does need them ;) (apart from the 2 new ones that arrived yesterday ready for winter)

My horse has

Turnout-
1x MW Weatherbeeta joules combo
1 x HW weatherbeeta taka combo (arrived yesterday)
1 x shires no fill standard neck turnout
1 x amigo bravo no fill standard neck turnout

Stable-
2x 150g amigo insulator rugs with 1 neck cover
1 x HW weatherbeeta belmont combo
1 x weatherbeeta fleece (arrived yesterday)
2 x waffle rugs
1 x rambo fleece
1x rambo stable sheet
1x rambo sweet itch hoody

All her stable rugs have been sent away to be washed ready for winter. She gets a hunter clip in the winter and stabled at night, but some rugs are used for travelling..when we go places. Spoilt horse!
 
Had her 21yrs & fully clipped in winter, but is only rugged in winter.

And have about a dozen old rugs lying around too I don't use. Plus sold quite a few rugs & competition stuff when I was pregnant. However as she never wrecks them, that's why she has so many.

Tbh, except for mw turnouts as mine are out a lot, she only really got rugs last winter cos she needed clipping.

I thought I'd always been sensible in purchasing rugs, and the amount of rugs I had for them, until I got my late lad who was a rug trasher..
 
At the moment... Jorji (appy x tb) has one rug he actually uses - a medium weight turnout which he wears from approx. Novemeber - February, hes pretty hardy and not ridden and at the moment immensely obese so hardly needs it! :rolleyes: He does also have a fleece though and a spare medium weight encase the other gets wet through.

Truffles (MW cob) has none at the moment as shes never worn one, we will be having a battle next week to try and get her used to one though as she will be continuing her backing/breaking shortly and a muddy wet horse is no use to me :p

That's the lot, to be honest he doesn't get rugged much. Only in wet weather over winter and very cold weather. Otherwise he's naked xx

They get stored at my dad's in vacuum pack bags :)
Each horse has their own bag so it doesn't get confusing
 
I won't list them as to many, but we have about 30 rugs mixture of everything. All my 3 are 6ft so can always mix & match. They all all have a lw, mw & hw turnout each tho. It's great them all being the same size tho :p
 
we have 3 horses and 45 YES 45 rugs!!!!! total madness im a sucker for a bargin rug!! at some point it will be 2 horses with 45 rugs! think it might be time for a clear out, i wonder how much money i would have if i sold them all for about 25 each give or take??!

New lady doesn't have many as she hasn't been around long but my late gelding had an endless supply of rugs, of each different type, weight & colour...! Especially fleeces. Unfortunately his are all a bit too big for her so will have to buy her a few more when it comes to winter as she's definitely the wimpy type.

So far she's collected:
- 1 waffle weave cooler
- 1 fancy posh fleece (which is far too nice for her to actually wear ;))
- 1 fly rug
- 1 lightweight waterproof (amigo)
- 1 lightweight full-neck waterproof (weatherbeeta)
 
Blimey!

Alf has a no-fill turnout, a stable rug and a turnout rug.

This may change, but I can't imagine that I will buy any more than a second turnout rug and a cooler/summersheet.

I own lots of rugs, but they are in the barn at my parents, and are apparently full of holes and covered in pigeon poo! Annoying, as they were very nice FALs.

Wouldn't mind but one of them is 32 and the other has all this but it was all there waiting for him when he arrived a few months ago, always intended to have a second riding horse so have bought things in twos whenever possible. Good job he's the right length despite being a hand bigger than I planned on having! My horses are spoilt looking at this. I'm going to hide in shame.
