I'm in the "minger' camp, I change mine maybe once a week or so. They never get smelly, and although I'll muck out in them, I don't wear them all day, I change once I get home from the yard. I think we can get a little obsessed over washing clothes.
Every day!
crikey! Id only wear mine a 2nd day if Id not actually ridden or mucked out - and then it would be if I was actually going to ride/muck out and come in and then stick them in the wash basket. Dont any of you sweat when you ride, maybe Im very unfit![]()
This. I've got a horse on straw so I muck out in my work stuff and change into jods to ride. So I'm only in them for a few hours and with no stable jobs done they don't really get dirty.2 or 3 times but I literally just ride in mine most of the time I tend to wear jeans to muck out in and wear around the yard.
Once they get too muddy/niffy. I have a pair of kipwarm breeches that I bought last year and I'm worried they will lose some of the rubbery, waterproof stuff if I wash them, so....
In my defence, I do wipe them over with a damp sponge
That may have been used for washing off a hairy hoss
How come folk get sweaty jodhs? My top half can get very sweaty, but not my legs. Am I missing something?
I'll wear jodhs for several days, but I only wear them for riding. I pop them on top of my saddle to air out.
They're fine to wash Mine are going into their third winter and they mostly get washed after each time I've ridden in them - they still seem just as waterproof. To be fair, the main reason they get washed each time is because I don't have my own horse and normally ride once a fortnight, so I wouldn't want them hanging around dirty for that long. On the odd occasion where I'm riding on two or three consecutive days they get worn again before washing.
At least a week, sometimes two. However, I only ride in mine. I don't muck out, poo pick, etc. in them.
Oh I seeyes haha - its not legs that are the issue with sweating... and even without sweating, lets face it , jodhs are *ahem* tight fitting?? surely you would want to wash a tight fitting item of clothing regularly?
