How many times have you come off your horse...

strangely i think i have sticky bum because it doesnt happen very often!! I dont remember falling off a lot when younger...

Current horse i have had 4 years and have only fell off him once, we were jumping and he caught me off guard with a particularly good side spook, these arent unusual for him and until that one i have sat to all the others!!

Last year i came off friends pony who has an definate knack of waiting until you are in a vunerable position on her very flat no knee rolls show saddle and then puts in a cheeky double buck!! not far to fall although it was an impressive somersault off!!

I dont ever worry about falling off and when it does happen i am definatley a straight back on again rider

3 times in 16mths (unbroken 4yo). Having said that, they were all in the space of 3 weeks :o

Had my boy nearly 4 years. No falls yet as only just lightly backed. One near miss in a rug and headcollar with a half rear spin and buck. however, anticipate many falls in a short space of time soon......

however, countless falls in the past. best one was proper thelwell style under a low branch and straight off the back!!!

In my riding school days, countless times , including my first lesson. There was no hope for me really :D.

Doodle:
4 times in 7 years. Three were our attempts at jumping and we have given up on that front . Once was when she ran through a hedge and we both fell, so I dont really count that...

Topaz:
hmm well this will take some counting . Out hunting 3 times, once the first time we went and it was the scariest experiance of my life. Being the straight back on type, took her again in a very strong bit in a vain bid to stop the ****** which did almost work but she threw a complete paddy in the carpark (the only time she has ever meant it and wanted me off) and the other being rather out-of-control agian, she jumped a hedge from the top of the hill instead of from the bottom, it proved her jumping prowess but not mine . Gave up at this point and haven't tried hunting agian!
Once in the collecting ring SJ, someone cut across the landing side of the jump just as we jumped, which resulted in a funny stride that pinged me off and out of the saddle as Topaz navigated around the horse who was less than a stride away from the jump! didn't even get an apology .
Once jumping at home, where she was so very pleased with the jump she has just done she did some impressive woohoo bucks. I was very determined to stay on and clung on like a limpit, the result, I ended up sliding down her neck and she only stopped bucking when I reached her head! My mum was useless at this point to help as she was hysterical with laughter, crying and everything , some support!
And about three times schooling at home due to bronco moves . In fairness to this, it is always in winter when turnout is restricted :(, and she does always look at you on the ground as if to say, 'what are you doing down there then? Did you not stick to my impressive moves?' :D. The last fall was a couple of weeks ago and served as a reminder of although she is very wellbehaved now she can still have her moments!
So thats 8 times or there abouts in 3 years the naughty pony! She has taught me a better seat however, and how to stick with them through the erm woohoo moments :D.

12 yrs 5 times that I can remember. But I'm sure there are more times. Each time she's tried to take herself home. Crossed the a30 twice the last time I refused to let go and got dragged around a field but she stopped eventually

Oh mine was a little angel until we hit the first incident - then it all went to pot!! 2 from canter, 1 from gallop. He picks his moments :o

i have had my boy 2 years now...

1. he took off in a panic because he saw a cyclist in hi vis at the end of feild was bushes he went one way i went the other thankfully hes a good lad and stayed with me while i couldnt move for a min!

2. i was show jumping and i cantered a line and totally got it wrong he stoped i carried on into the wing! again stayed with me and i got up and jumped the course again.

3. he took off down a track i couldnt stop and he fell so i came off again he stayed with me till i could get back on.

4. he took off down same track ( tried to combat the issue) and i bailed so not exactly a fall but i didnt want to end up in the wall at the end again!! so bailed and as i landed i shouted marley and he turned and troted back and again stayed with me while i caught my breath!

5. working hunter he wouldnt jump a water tray so rode him very forwards he leapt over it and i came onto his neck no reins or stirrups held on for a while and eventually dropped again he stayed with me untill i could move again (busted nose!)

6. was in the indoor was being silly trying a trick and jumped/fell off onto my knees ouch!

7. was recently i was jumping playing chase me charlie and he took over way to early landing was fine so stirrups but was ok untill he took the corner tightly and knocked my balance and i just fell on my bottom!

since this one i have a lot of near falls!!! im determind not to come off again any time soon!!!

Twice on the same hack with about 30seconds in between with share mare. Bronco for a long while which was fine, then stuck a few bucks in so i hopped off (can't stand bucks), when I got back on she decided to take me out with a tree (I actually landed on a Private Property sign facing the other direction :o). Both were completely my fault, she was far too fresh, I was stupid and with more balls (stupidity) than now and went out with a mate for a fast hack in an open field (before people jump for tresspassing the sign was because they were going to be building on the land and were fine with us using it!).
School was a few all in one go then nothing after.

Once on friends horse. Few rears (no problem), then came the bucks and hopped off. Got back and the response was 'oh, he gets everyone off on their first ride' *brick wall*. Fine after that and loved riding him.

Once on a horrible little pony who decide to throw herself into the middle of a bramble bush (no steering away to keep on actual bridleway) so I got off before ending up with her. Also one who was 'perfect' who I was exercising while they were away as a favour (and not really wanting to). Schooled a few times and then took out hacking (as asked) to then be told that she'd taken off with her owner several times the week previously, once through a bush. Refused to carry on riding after hearing that it had all started recently but they didn't want to get saddle/back checked or vet in (saddle never been done since owning and didn't look great and teeth regularly done) and were just going to put her on regumate instead.

New one not yet as only sat on once!

I'm far more dangerous on the ground than in the saddle. Looked quite bad for OH when I was hospitalised from broken hand, then face sliced open by a trailer ramp and black and bloody eye from catching electric wire in it over the course of a couple of weeks.

Lost count over the years :D my current girl i havent "yet" been sat around her ears a couple of times managed to scramble back to the saddle!
Last fall was 2yrs ago sat on a welshie i had brought as a project, i got on gave her a gentle squeeze to move on. Well that resulted in her leaping upwards of all four feet, i just flew of backwards i wasnt expecting that! I could never tell what that mare was thinking...she was a witch!

Five times in three years . . . two resulted in serious injury - in one fall I sustained two broken ribs and in another fractured my pelvis. GreyDonkey is incredibly sharp and his party trick is dropping first one shoulder (at speed) and then the other . . .

. . . love him though ;).
