how many years have you been around horses?

Nope.. I do :D two years at the end of the month :p

Hats off to you all. That's a few centuries of experience if it were all added up.
 
Fifty years in October, no breaks (even when pregnant!) although haven't ridden for about two years purely due to lack of time but, as we're in the process of having an arena built (very exciting!!), I may be tempted to clamber back on board!
 
Started having riding lessons when I was 7, I'm now 21... Got our first pony when I was 10, having had a year off in the middle of that. So 11 years properly.

It's scary- we started with absolutely no experience at all. My mum grew up in the suburbs, then worked and lived in a city. Moved to the countryside and hey presto, 3 yars later we have horses. She now sounds like she's been around horses all her life and people are shocked when they find out she's so relatively new to it all!
 
7 yrs, then a huge break for 7 yrs (college/uni), back in the saddle afterwards and 11 yrs and still none the wiser...

So many old people here... :D

Had nothing to do with horses as I was cars , cars and erm more cars.
Met this girl who had horses and she was NEVER going to change. So I learnt to ride ( Badly ) and married her :-)
Which makes a total of 23 years with no breaks

lol that is my hubbies story. Met me 84 I taught him to ride at Fulmer I was his instructors he only rode like a cowboy ye ha type. The rest is history , married too. Only he was not into cars , till now we both are into cars but me still horses him not

My oh would agree except we have been married 37 years

Awwww.... So, did the factory only make one of you?
 
24 years started when I was 7, OH started when he was 7 and he has 31 years with nags, we met through horses, bit weird/spooky that when I was born, OH was on the other side of the world learning to ride and it was horses that would bring us together :o :)
 
About 46 years :D and owned my own for 43 years. Only minor breaks in ownership and still rode weekly during ownership breaks :D
