seeing to my box rest mare on Olympia friday night!!!????

I need her skipping out,will leave hay by her stable door for that night,feed thats made will also be by stable door and her water to be topped up if needed,next to her my 2 geldings are in a walk in walk out large shelter and i will also leave hay for them so she would just need to give them a pile each in there. She said just to leave however much i think for her,but i honestly don't known what to pay!!!! Any thoughts,am greatful she can help.
 
How long will it take her,an hour? I go with £10, to me any less always seems stingy, even though £10 an hour is relatively quite a lot :P
 
I wouldnt give money.....i'd shout her a bottle of wine

as a one off - if it were more often i'd reduce it,
and seen as that it's your friend and it was helpful as you got to go to olympia, and that it's christmas soon...
something like a Terry's Chocolate Orange (but insists she opens it there and then so you can have a bit!)
 
Our friend will bring in, rug and feed our 6 horses Monday when we are at Olympia, we will leave her £20 and get her something nice for her and her horse too.
 
To be honest I would have thought so could do it as a favour. Generally for one off's at the yard we just help each other out so return the favour when necessary.
 
Do you really have to pay a friend. Im on a very small yard and we all muck intogether. Everybody is more than happy to help. Tonight im not going down to my horse, my friend is getting him in and seeing to him for me. Likewise I do the same for her some nights. Works well and gives you a little break in depths of winter especially when your working full time

But maybe she isn't at the same yard or wouldn't be going up otherwise?

If you think about mileage and driving time, plus the time she'll be at the yard I'd think about a tenner.

Personally I'd do it for free - favour for a favour kinda thing but I think its also perfectly fair to give her some cash as a thank you.
 
My friends doing my 2 as a favour when i go to Olympia from Saturday-Tuesday. I will get her something for her and her horse when i'm there though
 
I agree with doing it as a favour but if she wants paying I would say £5!! Im always doing thisngs like that for people and don't expect money. Just return the favor for her one day
 
i was thinking £10-£15 ish. She is a friend but i dont know her that well to just give her a bottle if you know what i mean. She has a yard down the road from me with her mum but would be coming esp to do my lot at that time. She is a v decent groom and Tim Stockdale has offered her a job as his travel groom on several occasions so i do feel honoured!!!! No seriously now,she is trying to start her own grooming freelance business and i will leave some money as i know she will do a fab job and i am glad of the help. Thanks for the suggestions, E xx

I think the fact that you asked and she said 'what ever you think' indicates she DOES want paying so I would leave £10-15 purely because you say she is setting up a business. She can always give it back saying it was too much but at least you won't offend her then.

Normally tho I would agree with the others as friends do it as a favour, even other liveries if they are nice enough
