Interested. We've only ever had one farrier, who charges us just over £40 for a set of four shoes. What does everyone else pay?

NB: My farrier is nice, but just a tad disorganised and likes to get into the whole "those will last another couple of weeks..." then the whole thing gets out of sync.

It's the going rate for a decent farrier in the South I believe.

Not that I know of I also only pay £60 set of 4 in the south.

A stonking £86 including road nails. £25 for a trim. Can you guess that is Surrey prices?

Are they gold plated??? Sorry don't mean to be flippant but thats more than double what my farrier charges

Heartbars and gel infills. They may be cheaper if they were gold plated, LOL.

Previous to that they was paying £72 which included road studs behind.

£78 last time but horse has collapsed heels so they are trimmed a lot more and something different goes on with the shoes

) That explains it all then with the heartbars etc. I knew they were more expensive but didn't expect there to be such a hike in the price
