At my riding school it's £40 for an hours private lesson or £31 for an hours group lesson (group being no more then 2 people). I think it is slightly cheaper during the week/evenings and cheaper for kids as well.
My instructor is a very good friend of mine, so only charges me £15 and hour for a private lesson on my own horse. At the local riding school it would be £18 for half an hour group, that's all I had so I'm not sure about other types of lesson.
At my previous yard (which is also a riding school) i think it was:
1/2hr group - £13
1/2hr private - £15
1hr group - £20
1hr private - £25
1/2hr private for liveries - £8
I haven't actually had any proper lessons for over a year
£15 for about an hour on my own horse but at my instructors yard.
She not very money minded and I have had lessons for about 2 hours and she still charges the same price. She is an execellent instructor and a list 4 or 5 dressage judge.
Mine is £21 for hour group or £28 semi private (can't remember what it is for private lesson)
Thomastank I also remember the 80s lessons - think mine were £3 something. Mind I also paid £6.50 in 90s at a riding school - I think my present instructor can seen the benefits of those cheap lesson
Well, at the rs I got to it's the same price private or group, although there are hardly any private lessons
1/2 hour is £13.50
3/4 hour is £18.50
! hour is £25
There is also a pound reduction if you ride with syblings!
Liveries also have £5 off whichever lesson they ride in!
For XC and SJ £40 per hour for instructor's time but that's split for more people - at her yard so if my daughter and I both have a lesson at the same time we still pay £40
For flatwork £10 per person per hour - again at instructors yard but if my duaghter and I both have a lesson at the same time it's then £20.
I get private lesson (45mins-1hr) for £20 which I think is really reasonable. In fact I keep asking if it's the right amount! Group lessons I think are £17 an hour
